nelomely, Here is my answer to a very similar question :"disassemble your Kindle. Follow this guide. You should check the solder connection on the micro USB port. It is very likely that they have either come totally of the board, or that they have micro cracks. It might be possible to reuse the old connector and resolder it, or you may have to find a new connector. If you need a new one, you could check mouser.com or digikey.com for a micro USB that fits the dimensions of your Kindle." For more information, check the answer from John Painter on this question not charging Hope this helps, good luck.

Binder clips may work when attached to the case around the charging port.

When I had this problem with my first Kindle Fire 7, I popped the case open and found that the jack for the micro-USB port had broken free of its solder connections. After a re-solder of the part (need a micro-tip on the soldering iron), it was working again. Until the solder failed again. So I got a refurnished Kindle Fire 7, and it was working fine until the charging problems started again recently. However, instead of taking it apart, I found that two small binder clips placed on each side of the case where USB cable is plugged in applies enough force on the USB jack to make the pins connect internally even with the broken solder. The clips are working great for now. I take the binder clips off when I carry it around and put them on when needing a charge. One of the binder clips will block the power button but that is a minor annoyance. The binder clips are just a few cents a piece and it is the best solution I have found thus far. Get the one inch wide little binder clips. The force of the clip keeps the jack in its slot so the pins make contact but it is not enough force to damage the screen or case. I want to be able to use the Kindle Fire 7 until the battery fails, not give up on it after one year. Amazon will give you 5 bucks for the broken model and then 20% off the price of a replacement, but that is a hassle.

Came across Smart Charge Cable it comes with 3 metal plugs that fit into the Kindle charge port the cable & metal plug are magnetic once you put the plug in you don't have to anymore the cable magnetically attaches to plug & charges your Kindle. So you wont wear out or loosen the charge port by constantly putting the charge cable in & out of the port.. Its supposed to be for phones but the Android plug that came with it works on my Paper white.

Smart Charge Cable The Gadget Shelf $16.99 sale. $24.99 regular price.

I did this for my kiddos, they had the charging ports busted BEFORE we even finished our move or lost the mini usb ends as they would fall out, even with the children's case on. Have been looking EVERYWHERE for wireless option at this point, amazon has already replaced all 3 of them twice and we've only had them for about 4 months.
