Why won't it work?

When i turn on my computer it goes to the screen that had options like normal windows and other options whenever i press any of them they send me to a blue screen saying it doesn't work and numbers counting up. I only turned off the computer with the switch thing once and not by the shut off button. Please help!!!!!!
