Bottem 2/3 of screen white or vertical lines
Hi, my 17" Macbbook Pro A1151 has a screen problem, the lower 2/3 of it is either white of has vertical lines. Also on the top 1/3 of the screen If I have windows open they give off purple lines going upwards.
I have disassembled the mac and the screen and check the cable, nothing I do to the cable changes anything, if I push on the LCD the entire screen goes white. Asking on here as I believe its the LCD its self that's gone but I cant be sure.
Also, at the moment I cant get an external display to work, but before I installed display drivers in bootcamp I was able to run of an external monitor easily.
I will upload some pics shortly.
Thanks for any help.

Hi, thanks for the help, an update on the mac, I eventually found that despite trying pressure on many parts of the screen and bezel previously to no effect, if I pinch the lower left corner of the screen on the LCD its self, it corrects the problem. It is now for all purposes fully functioning. After I pinch it there it works for longer then I can before needing to be pinched again.
I have looked into it and found that it is a connection in the screen its self so this should be resolved with a new LCD.

Chris
