I was fixing an ipad 4 digitizer and the attached home button flex broke from the contact near the button circuit. I realized that the home button assembly with ipad 4 is quite different from the previous ipads. Can someone please help where i can get this flex cable or is there any way to repair it.

I successfully completed this repair by replacing the home button assembly complete with the flex cable. There is no chance this cable can be repaired there is some processing going on in the switch so it must be replaced if torn or cracked.
What a game for the new IPAD4 home button!
Everyone please be careful on repairing this and opening the Digitizer. If the Digitizer is cracked from the bottom then double check the glass wont break it upon removal as well.
You can easily rip this flex!its literally 4mm wide and very flimsy! Even handling the new flex assembly is scary!

You can order the Home button flex cable from Amazon. I recently replaced the Home button flex cable on my iPad4. It's close in work because the connector is very small.

I have ordered now 2 digitizers and home button assembly from overseas companies (one from chinagadgetland) and both have been incorrect parts. Even though they are listed for the IPAD 4 and show the correct flex cable in the picture on both I received a home button assembly for an IPAD 3 with no flex cable. Anyone had any luck with actually receiving the correct part?

you can buy the part from Etech.8$ but would need someone with soldering experience is required. Try Xpressfix in Orlando Florida. They fixed mine for 79$. They also accept mail in as well.
