Core 2 Duo upgrade to i7?
I was wondering if I could upgrade my Mid 2009 20" iMac from a 2GHz Core 2 Duo to a Quad-core i7 or i5. Is it possible to switch them out?

Can I put a Core 2 extreme or Core 2 Quad in there?
Highly unlikely that it would work.
You can upgrade to a faster Core 2 Duo chip on some of the iMacs. Most have to have the logic board replaced. Try maxing out the RAM first and putting a really fast hard drive like the WD Velociraptor. http://www.wdc.com/en/products/products....
