Adhesive strips or not?

This may be a dumb question sorry if it is, but anyways eh I want to replace the front screen of my iphone 4 (at&t/gsm), but in some videos on youtube they use adhesive strips to glue the new assembly to the aluminum frame, and on some videos they don't, now my question is, do I really need to use adhesive strips or not?

Not, in fact when I replace a customer's screen I remove the factory ones and don't replace them, they are a nuisance ! If this Answer is helpful please remember to return and mark it Accepted.

Do what is easiest for you. If the adhesive is clean and free of glass shards, leave the old adhesive in place. If it is covered with glass shards, it is best to remove the adhesive strip, and do not replace it, because that is easiest. Kinda like what Mitch said above, but easier for me.

it doesnt make that much difference but like brad said if the adhesive is clean you can leave it but if not then you have to remove it but its always best to put the new adhesive on if you doing it for your phone because it does help from protecting your phone if you drop it or whatsoever but its up to you and i would put a new one if i have it and it wont cost you nothing just to peel it off and stick it on the frame.
