Hi
I have a macbook pro A1278. The laptop fell and the LCD Hinges broke. I started getting a very dim (without any backlight) I got a replacement lcd, after replacing the lcd I saw little smoke near the connector on the motherboard. Know there is no display.
Any fix or solution is appreciated

Connect to an external monitor to determine if you've cooked you logic board. If there's no display on the external you've shorted the board... since you know where the burn was you might be able to get a professional to replace the bad component (this might not be cost effective) Soldering component replacement is not really for DIY beginners - it requires special tools, solder and lots & lots of practice.
