it turns on normally and it makes the sounds, LED 1 is on, LED 2 and 3 turn on as well, it stays in the blank screen with the apple and the loading circle, after a few minutes the fans spin faster and it shuts down after that.
Any ideas?

Fans spinning faster=overheat of a component... could be the CPU, or the GPU. On a machine of that age I would suspect dry thermal paste allowing the CPU to overheat. Since it's open... let it cool down overnight. Find a good fan to point at (into) the case and attempt to run AHT - with the extra air flow you may be able to run long enough to get results from AHT - if the first run shows no problem it's pointing to overheating (it just isn't hot enough yet) see if you can run AHT a 2nd and 3rd time, you may get a useable result.
