iPod won't display ANYTHING after repair

I've recently tried to do a DIY repair of my iPod Touch 2G. My problem was with the backlight, it didn't seem to be working at all. My screen was incredibly dim and I would have to hold it up to the light to see what I was doing. Adjusting the brightness and turning off the auto-adjust-brightness feature didn't help at all, so I restored my iPod and updated to the most recent firmware (3.1.3) but this didn't help either. With no luck with the restore, no money in my pocket, and an expired warranty, I decided to try to repair it myself. I followed instructions given to me by various YouTube videos & the very detailed instructions here on iFixIt to open up my iPod enough to dissconnect & reconnect the cable connecting the logic board to the display. Now after putting the iPod back together, my screen displays NOTHING not a darn thing, no matter how close I hold it to the light.

My computer still detects it. iTunes still recognizes it. I can still restore it. I can put music on it. The touchscreen, internal speaker, and headphone jack still work as I can manage to "unlock" it (even without seeing what I'm doing) and it makes the click noise. I haven't been able to get music to play since I can't tell what I'm doing.

Oh and my hold button was broken ages ago (those %^#* RebelTouch cases are defective) and my headphone jack has the oh-so-imfamous cuttin in and out on one side problem.

If anyone else has had this problem, or has any information that might be able to help me it would be greatly appreaciated as I'm willing to try just about anything at this point.

As for the display issue, please double check that the display connector is firmly seated in its place.

You may have broken the LCD screen further during disassembly.

The iPod touch has grounding problems. The unit grounds everywhere, so check you board and lcd ground strap, the copper ribbon, and see what happens.

The 2nd gen lcd's are finnicky.

if needed, remove and reinstall the LCD.
