Why does the vibrator motor stop when I attach the wifi antenna?

I recently replaced a front cracked screen on my iPhone 4, and everything worked fine except the vibrator motor. Through trial and error, I found out that when removing the wifi antenna, the motor would start spinning.

With ibrate running, the motor would stop as soon as I tried to put on the wifi antenna, then start when I removed the antenna. It seems to stop running when the bottom front right clip touches the metal retainer where it clips into.

At ideas? Thanks in advance for your help!

If this is a new thing after you replaced your screen than you should double check everything you did, maybe something is under the wifi plate like a screw that is bridging contacts and causing this, good luck and keep us posted.

Thanks for the response Mitch. I double checked everything, and it all seems to be normal with no loose connections or screws. As I stated, it works just fine until I move the wifi antenna gently into place, even before I put in the screws. Can I remove the bottom front right clip from the antenna, or would that mess up the wifi signal? I think that would eliminate the problem, but I'm worried it may cause another.

Try some black electric tape over the clip as a test, although if that works it's not the right way to fix a problem, but worth a try, Brad has a real good comment you should look into.

Are the flex cables being crushed by the right clip? Keep them away from the clip.

I tried some electrical tape over the right and left clip, but that didn't seem to work. I eventually put the wifi antenna back on, and when held firmly in the center, the vibrator motor started working again. I tightened it down with the 5 screws, added a piece of electrical tape on the center of the antenna, and when I reattached the back plate with pressure on the antenna, it now works.

Seems to be a loose or poor ribbon connected, but the phone is fixed for now, although I suspect only temporarily. Thanks for the tips, and I will add further comments down the road if need be.
