I have done this before... First of all which screw is it?
I would try using small long nose pliers just big enough to fit around the screw without having it touch or hit anything else around it. Also don't use any electrical equipment, only as a last option but not recommended.

If the screw head is not recessed down a hole (& you can therefore grab the head outer perimeter), then you can buy specialist screw pliers to remove small stripped screws, for example...
