Hello--
The belt snapped the drive belt on my Craftsman Riding Mower 917.987140 46" automatic, Well, When i installed the new belt, It is still loose and i have done what it looks like in th eowners manual, If anyone can help it would be very helpful, If i can get a actual picture that would be even better. james Sams, make sure that you have the right drive belt. there are different length that could cause this. Otherwise, just follow the manual to replace the motion drive belt:"
TO REPLACE MOTION DRIVE BELT
Park the tractor on level surface. Engage parking brake. For assistance, there is a belt installation guide decal on bottom side of left footrest.
BELT REMOVAL -
1. Remove mower (See "TO REMOVE MOWER" in this section of manual).
NOTE: Observe entire motion drive belt and position of all belt guides and keepers.
2. Remove belt from stationary idler (A) and clutching idler (B).
3. Remove belt from centerspan idler (C).
6. Pull belt slack toward rear of tractor. Carefully remove belt upwards from transmission input pulley and over cooling fan blades (D).
4. Remove belt downward from engine pulley (E).
5. Slide belt toward rear of tractor, off the steering plate (F) and remove from tractor.
BELT INSTALLATION -
1. Install new belt from tractor rear to front, over the steering plate (F) and above clutch brake pedal shaft (G).
2. Pull belt toward front of tractor and roll belt onto engine pulley (E).
3. Pull belt toward rear of tractor. Carefully work belt down around transmission cooling fan and onto the input pulley (D). Be sure belt is inside the belt keeper.
4. Install belt on centerspan idler (C).
5. Install belt through stationary idler (A) and clutching idler (B).
6. Make sure belt is in all pulley grooves and inside all belt guides and keepers.
7. Install mower (See "TO INSTALL MOWER" in this section of manual).

Is this same configuration for Murray 42155? (2012)
Would this diagram be the same for 917252932 riding mower??
@M Gnzls no it will not be identical. Your 917.252932 appears to be a Sears YTV 16 Varidrive mower. Make sure that this is the right number etc. since it would be a relative older riding mower/tractor.
Yes correct it's a sears ytv16 older mower problem is I can't find a diagram of the ground belt installation , would u know where I can get that info. Any advice will be appreciated , thanks
@M Gnzls lets see if there is an old manual for it around somewhere. We are looking for the motion belt correct? Since it is a Varidrive it should have a primary and a secondary belt from the motor to the axle and it should be a straight mount. Let‘s see….

The belt will appear loose till the clutch is engaged. I didn't find an actual photo but this diagram is good: http://www.fixya.com/support/t11091710-m...

Followed the instructions belt is still loose and wont move.
The diagram that is showing is the wrong diagram My mower is a craftsman T150 with gears.Can anyone show me the right diagram?

Ys4500 drive belt comes off soon as take brake off
New belt
Looks like transmission guides are bent or angled downward
Looks like tearend needs tilted upwards
My t2200 doesn't have the c pulley, does it supposed to and did it come out And that caused my problem

@billjohn13979 take a look on here. This is the diagram for a T2200K
and should be pretty similar to yours.

For anyone using the OEM 130969 drive belt, one thing that helped me was comparing the routing to the old belt before taking it off. The routing looks simple until everything is apart, and it's surprisingly easy to get it wrong. Taking a couple of pictures first saved me a lot of time during reassembly.
