iPhone X: Why is my phone just black?

iPhone X: Keeps restarting after update

Hi, My phone got stuck on a bootloop after battery died so I restored and updated my phone to 14.7 but after this update my phone restarts every 3 min or so I read the panic log and it was thermalmonitord missing sensor mic1 error. How can I solve this problem ? I tried disconnecting every flex on motherboard but nothing seems to work.

My old iPhone X that I have had since it was released has worked fine and was handed down to my son. About 3 days ago he said he woke up and was using it and it kept crashing. I did a lot of investigating and wiped it multiple times, tried beta iOS, read through the log files, which reference Thermalsensor and “Mic 1”. I also took it to Apple store and they said they *believe* it was the motherboard. I did take the screen off and discovered the moisture sensor on the underside of the screen was pink, but every connector on the phone looked brand new and spotless and I did not see any corrosion anywhere.

I also found the program callediDevice Panic Log Analyzer today and when I run the logs through it it says the possible issues are:

“Power Button Flex” and or “Charging Port Flex”

Other info from the log:

panic(cpu 0 caller 0xfffffff013ff70f4): userspace watchdog timeout: no successful checkins from thermalmonitord since load

I’m interested in repairing it and trying to sell because I already ordered my son a new phone.

iPhone X: White Line after replacing battery

Replaced my battery recently and cannot get this white line on the screen to go away. Got the new battery installed, tested it, and everything worked fine. Disconnected and installed the new water seal, then got it put back together and now have a vertical white line through the screen. I have unplugged and replugged in every cable always disconnecting the battery first but to no help. Still a white line in the same exact spot. Everything else works just fine like touch ect. I even tried cleaning all connections with some alcohol but that didnt help either.

Hello, I have an iPhone X which had a battery replacement, and was working fine until it randomly restarted and the battery percentage now shows as 0%. The battery health also shows as service, but before the restart it showed as 100%. It also randomly restarts, does anyone know what the issue may be? Thank you

iPhone X: Both front and rear camera, flash not working?

This is the 4th iPhone X on which I replaced the back glass by using the heat gun after removing the rear camera and main board/ motherboard so that it won't get damaged due to overheating. Now I assembled it back and the phone started fine. After starting it displayed an error, “face id is not available". I checked camera app but camera screen will just remain black on both cameras front and rear. Flashlight is not turning on either. I disconnect and connected everything, no luck and inspected both camera and face id for damage, nothing found. I tried testing the device, no luck. Please help and advice.

iPhone X: Disfunction after Battery exchange

After following the battery exchange procedure on my iPhone X (every step worked out fine and easy) the screen does only show a green line (near the bottom) with some red pixels on one spot. But nothing else. The brightness of this green line is changing and the line has some small gaps as well.

I opened and closed the display connectors some times without any change. It made no difference if the power came from the new battery or from the plugged charging connector.

I recognised no problem with tension on any cables while disassembly and the display went of fine (using a heated gel cushion)

May be I need to be more preciese - there is not a green line over the normal screen.

The green line is the only what is displayed - the rest is black…

Still the display the most likely part?

May it be an ESD damage?

iPhone X: Replaced earpiece speaker, but still hear crackling audio

So i replaced my iphone X earpiece speaker assembly because sound from it was crackling, but even with the new assembly installed, it still sounds the same. Could this be some sort of software issue? I hope Apple covers it if thats the case.

iPhone X: What thermal paste to use after bottom board swap?

Hi guys,

Last night I did a bottom board swap on iPhone X (tried it for the first time and succeeded, very proud of myself :D). After I soldered both logic boards back together I have realised there is no thermal compound inside anymore. I want to do my repairs to the highest possible standards, so I think it's a good idea to apply some thermal paste back where it should be.

My question is what product do you use for it? What type of paste?

iPhone X: Did I imagine a spark at my iPhone X’s Lightning port?

This is an odd scenario. Please bear with me as I’m terribly tired, but my anxiety is getting the best of me.

I was about to turn in for the evening & I was about to plug in my iPhone X. No lights were on, except for the glow of the tv.

I was about to insert the iPhone X’s Lightning cable in; it was literally at the opening of the charging port, when I thought I saw a spark. I didn’t insert the cable. Upon looking again, I thought I just saw the dull reflection of the tv’s lights on the metal edges of the Lightning cable.

I inspected the cable and the pins were perfectly fine - no black residue. The metal edge of the Lightning cable had some black on it, but my finger was able to wipe it away as if it was just dirt, debris.

I know there won’t be a definitive answer to my question, but from your experiences - do you think I saw a spark, or just a reflection of light off of the metal edges of the lighting cable? Also, the opening of the iPhone X’s charging port - is it plastic, or metal? I thought that might play a role if static discharge was an issue.

A few things worth noting: I wear glasses, but as I was plugging the iPhone in, I wasn’t wearing them (my vision isn’t too terrible). I did eventually plug the iPhone X in and it charged just fine (the cable and charger seemed proper).

Any constructive comments are welcome.

iPhone X: Microphone problem after screen replacement

Hello.

When I replace the display with a new LCD, then I screw the tape with (speaker-microphone-face id etc), while recording the front camera I hear a slight squeaking in the background. But when the tape is on the outside of the screen, it is all ok. Is it maybe some kind of lack of grounding in the screen? Is there any method to change it? (in the original display everything is fine) Any suggestions or help are welcome.

iPhone X: Lightly dropped screen only works in direct sunlight

i tossed my phone onto my bed just for the screen to shut off. The phone is still fully functional but the screen can faintly be seen in direct sunlight. im hoping its not an expensive fix anybody know what the deal is? help is greatly appreciated.

I am a brand spanking new newbie when it comes to electronics repair but i'm very excited to learn board repair. I purchased the Hakko FX888D to practice soldering on dummy boards and will probably continue to use it for some time.

iPhone X: iPhone x in reboot loop

Hey y'all, my iPhone x recently got stuck in a reboot loop. I let it do its thing until the battery died, plugged it in and it powered on. My phone behaved normally for about 20 minutes, then back to reboot loop. I tried this again, and after researching I decided to quickly go to settings and do an iOS update. Which worked, for about three days. I've connected it to iTunes and recieved the notification that something was wrong and I needed to update or restpre. I tried both and toward the end of the process it said neither could be completed. Not sure what to try next? Thanks!
