iPhone 7 Plus: Stuck on Apple logo

I was given an iPhone 7 plus for a screen replacement.

Bloke handed it over and pretty much rushed off.

So with that, I thought I should switch the phone on and test everything thoroughly before opening. To find that the phone is stuck on the Apple logo.

So contacted him and asked about it, and he said to just do the screen replacement.

So I did, with the same results.

As it happened, I had another 7+ here which I tried the front camera flex in it, and it fired up, so explained it would need a new camera, but would need to get one in. He wanted me to take the other customers camera and put it in his, which I said is never going to happen.

So the part arrived, and still the same thing, stuck on the Apple logo. So am going to get another one in, incase it's faulty.

But is there anything else that it could be?

Thanks

iPhone 7 Plus: Why does my iPhone 7 Plus rear camera show black screen?

I accidentally dropped my phone a few days ago and found out the rear camera and flashlight are not working on the camera app. Instead it showed a black screen and in video mode there was an icon saying ‘iphone needs to cool down before using flash’ I tried using the snapchat camera but no luck there. So I took my iPhone to a local repair shop. They checked the connections were fine and my camera might be broken. By chance, today I opened my messenger camera by chance and it was working absolutely fine. I have tried reset/reboot and factory reset but still can’t access my back camera except from the messenger app.

iPhone 7 Plus: How do I fix a loose charging port without replacement?

The charging cable was pulled at an angle and it wasn't removed properly. Now when a charging cable is inserted, it goes in but there is no audible click and is loosely fitting. Is there a way to fix this without a port replacement? Is there a way to bend something in the connector so it grips the lightning plug more?

I think it's the wings inside of the lighting plug that are loose but is there a way to bend it inward without a device disassembly? I have a photo of what I am referring to below.

iPhone 7 Plus: Why isn't my home button working, or my Touch ID working?

Before I begin to explain the situation, let me state that I have not had a screen replacement, and got this phone in December. 'Okay, so basically, I was taking a test yesterday, and fully powered off my phone. When I turned it back on, a message saying "unable to activate Touch ID on this iPhone" came up, and the home button is unclimbable. I have looked in the settings, and resetting my fingerprints is not a option as they are no longer there. I did not drop my phone that day or anything to possibly damage it.

iPhone 7 Plus: Touch issues after 7 plus screen install replacement

So I had this happen today with two installation attempts with two different phones and two different replacement screens. I'm putting a new screen on an iPhone 7 Plus and the screen tests fine prior to install, yet when it's fully inserted into the frame, the touch screen functionality goes erratic and is basically non-usable. The second screen I was dealing was SUPPOSED to be OEM quality (I'm having my doubts on that supplier) so I was really surprised to have any issues. I had the chance to tinker with that one a lot more than the first and the different was obvious, the screen is fully connected and everything installed on the back of it and it tests totally fine while it's outside of the frame. But as soon as it goes in all the way, it's worthless. Now, this guy, and the first, now that I think of it, had some rather significant bends in their frames that I couldn't straighten out completely. However, the original screens, once reinstalled, worked just fine so perhaps it's just an issue with some of the aftermarket screens being rather finicky. I should note that 3d touch was turned off.

Does anyone know if this is somehow to the installation of the new screens? At any rate, it's extremely frustrating only having an issue flare up once you're all the way through the repair.

iPhone 7 Plus: iPhone 7 plus keeps shutting off after screen replacement

I just did a screen replacement on an iPhone 7 plus. The previous screen was almost completely shattered with a large hole in the upper left hand corner.

After I completed the repair, I turned the phone to find that everything worked fine. The camera, microphone, audio, etc... all worked great. I left it on for a few minutes just to make sure everything was fine, and while I did that it turned itself off.

Now I can't get it to stay on. It'll stay on for anywhere from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, however at some point it will shut itself off. Sometimes it'll shut off when it would usually go to sleep. Sometimes it'll shut off when the lock button is pressed. I've tried disconnecting the flex cable (for the camera, light sensor, etc), and it still does the random shut off thing.

Other than that, there doesn't appear to be anything wrong with the phone. When I leave it plugged in, I don't believe it does this shutdown thing (however I haven't had a chance to test for an extended amount of time).

Has anyone experienced this before, and did anyone come upon a solution?

iPhone 7 Plus: How do I activate my iPhone

The iPhone had an Apple ID that was blocked so we couldn’t sign out and the owner of the Apple ID couldn’t remember the answers to security questions. So we tried 4ukey, which removed (?) the Apple ID, so we logged in to a new Apple ID.

The iPhone couldn’t detect a sim and was always on “Searching”, so we decided to update the iOS through OTA. We downloaded the file but it will give an error saying unable to install update.

So we erased the phone and set it back to factory settings. We got stuck at the setup screen where it will not activate iPhone after the join WiFi screen.

I then restored the iPhone to iOS 12.4 via 3utools, since iTunes was gave an error 3630 (which I later found it to be “failed to copy preflight options”.). The issue persisted and now, it’s still stuck at the the “Unable to Activate” screen but now it says “No Service” with a warning sign by it instead of “searching”.

Connecting to iTunes, it gives “The iPhone ‘iPhone’ could not be activated because the activation information could not be obtained from the device”

On the Device information (using 3utools), it says “Unable to Read Data” for both IMEI, Baseband Version and Primary Number and Brickstate is set to True.

I saw someone say that without IMEI, you cannot activate the iPhone. Is there a way around this?

iPhone 7 Plus: Phone dead after replacing screen > didn't disconnect battery?

I replaced my IPhone 7 plus screen and it worked.

However the touch button wasn’t seated properly so I reopened and re-seated.

Now, I remember when reading on the screen replacement manual that came with it “make sure to disconnect battery before working or guaranteed failure” to that effect.

But because I was in a rush this time i dont think i disconnected the battery prior to removing the screen.

Now the phone is completely lifeless.

Im wondering if the phone has a fuse, or what would be the most likely cause of a dead phone after replacing screen without disconnecting battery properly?

Im hugely distraught from this since it was clearly working before i re-opened to fix home button..

iPhone 7 Plus: Screen keeps restarting after screen replacement

I did a screen replacement for an iPhone 7 plus (oem screen) and before I put all the screws and plate on it I test it and it functions fine. When I put the front camera sensor the home button the back plate and the screws that go on the motherboard ( I made sure I didn't misplace them because that could cause the phone to get a blue screen) and close up the phone it keeps restarting just on the Apple logo. Sometimes it would go to the home screen for like 5-10 mins then it shuts back down.

I asked around and they told me it's because of the front camera theirs a sticker that needs to be intact with the camera ( if you don't heat it up good ) can this be true ? Maybe it fried the front camera and it's not letting it turn on ? Anything helps guys thanks !

iPhone 7 Plus: IOS 12 touch issues

Hi ya’ll!

So, it seems apple is still at it, with making our lives hard. I've recently experienced iphone 7 plus aftermarket screens, where the touch stopped working directly after an update to ios 12. I haven't had that confirmed yet - have any of you experienced the same?

If so, I think it's the same issue as on ip6s a while ago, and also ip8. Make sure to use screens with original IC, so it won't be an issue - at least until apple throws in a fix in an update, like the other times. They claim to have removed ALS issues, but there has been reports of issues still. Best bet is to keep moving screen data with ALS-BOX, to prevent issues.

Can anyone give me feedback here? Thanks in advance.

Update (09/25/2018)

So yeah, I've gotten the news from one of our suppliers - there is issues with IC’s of sub par quality, go for oem screens with original IC's, and all should be good..:) same as ip6s on ios 10 (i think it was), and ip8 on ios 11..:) will most likely be solved on update..:)

iPhone 7 Plus: iPhone restore error code 2012

iPhone board is unfortunately one of the disturbingly more common ones being reworked in a chinese lab getting in EU as refurb, thus no clear history. Had a badly reworked faulty audio IC that was fixed, yet it showed little glitches partly due to aftermarket parts fit in the housing. After everything was finally put together with known good parts a restore was started with iOs 12.4.

Restore with iTunes got stuck first at verifying software, afterwords went into error 2012. 3Utools gets stuck at verifying filesystem, no error, it just hangs.

I can’t find any error 2012 reference, I fear a Nand issue but before wasting time on it would appreciate any insight if someone has already gone through something similar.

iPhone 7 Plus: iPhone 7 Plus in bootloop and unresponsive after restore!

My phone is pretty much all around malfunctioning and I need help.

The first time problems arised was when I received a call and I could not hear anything and the microphone was not picking up my voice, so I tried resetting but that only caused my phone to enter a bootloop. I’ve dealt with this before so I tried entering DFU mode, letting the battery completely die, restart restart restart, but nothing. Wasn’t until I tried restoring where I realized something must be really wrong with the phone, tried restoring and it would just enter bootloop and never end. However sometimes the phone would actually start up if I updated the carrier settings before the restoring process finished. But even then the phone was acting super weird, the little pop ups asking you simple things like to cancel or allow location would cause the entire phone to become unresponsive, only way to get it back would be to press sleep button. After passing setup screen I started to check around the phone, both cameras did not work, speaker did not work, trying to toggle something in settings would freeze the phone , certain apps would not load up, App Store opened but never loaded anything. Safari did partially work but if I tried scrolling down on some pages it would just freeze again. I can send messages but that’s about it, WiFi and Bluetooth seem to be working as well. If the phone for whatever reason is turned off or has to restart then it will return into the bootloop unless I try to restore it to get it to work. There also haven’t been any screen replacements on the phone I am pretty sure, it just happened randomly about a week ago.

Does anyone have any advice on what might be the problem?

Is this because there may be a problem with the software or something else which has caused the battery to expand in such a short period of time? As i know there has been a lot of problems with iOS 11 with battery issues.

Or is it purely because of the battery that was used?

The battery i used was a OEM battery from a very reliable company.

Thanks in advance

UPDATE:

I have changed the battery again for now and will see how it goes, the customer was also using an aftermarket charging plug, so i got him to purchases both a plug and cable off me. So i don't know if the cable or plug does actually affect it but we will wait and see. Will update again.
