iPhone 7 Plus: infinity loop, random boot, but no speaker, ring or hearpize

Hi, and thks for read.

My screen broke, so i buy a replacement screen, when i change the lcd for the new one, the iphone start the boot loop, so i put again the broke one and the boot loop appear with the broken screen, but after 3 reboots the phone boot up just fine, the home button work, bur the phone star to freeze, and freeze, i read in the forums that could be the camara and proximity flex, in the post said that whent they disconnect the flex, the phone boot up just fine, but i try and my phone keep in the boot loop with the camera and proximity flex disconnected.

So i install the new sreen and verify all the flex, the phone after a few boop and restart, boot up normal, but it keep freezing, so i call to the phone and what i find, was the phone not ring, the hearpice not working, an the option of loudspeaker was not avaible, what i think is the flex of the camera and proximity sensor is damage. is the any other test i can make to be shure ?? or that issues can be of the blame of another part.

iPhone 7 Plus: Phone is acting up after replacing the screen

Hi guys, excuse the long post but I am trying to give as much detail as possible and hope someone knows the answer to this.

So today I tried to replace the smashed screen on my buddy's iPhone 7 Plus. Mind you I am not a professional and don't have a business but like to dig around in technology. I did follow a guide very carefully and I am sure that I connected everything correctly and did not break anything in the process with the below exceptions.

Here are the exceptions- the issues in the process:

- the tri-wing screw that is dead center on the back of the home button holding it onto the little metal plate went bald immediately upon me trying to unscrew it. Because of that I carefully bent up the metal plate on both sides to make it fit through the hole in the front assembly (yes very unprofessional but I couldn't see another way since the screw would not come out, and since it is not connected to any of the electronics underneath but only protects them and holds them in place I did not think it would be an issue.

- there is a little sticker attached to the metal back plate of the screen that has a little cut out rectangle that on the original screen wrapped around the little grey rectangle on the ribbon cables that connect it to the body. On the replacement screen that grey rectangle on the ribbon cables was slightly bigger which made it impossible to wrap the frame sticker around it (not sure whether that sticker is only supposed to hold things in place or is of actual use)

Here are the things wrong with the phone upon reassembly with the new screen:

- the phone first of all needs about 5 minutes to boot and stays constantly on the apple logo during that time

- the phone works pretty much just fine on the lock screen but as soon as the phone is unlocked some clicks only register after like 10 seconds and opening apps can take forever.

- the home button is not recognized any more (which might be an issue on the side of the new screen since it connects through the screen to the body of the phone if I am correct and not necessarily due to me bending the metal bracket that it is attached to?)

- the status bar at the top of the phone with battery, time, network, etc. is sometimes there and then not

- phone and face time calls don't work (I believe texting works though)

- the back camera jumps around while taking videos. If I hold the phone perfectly still the video looks like I am shaking the phone around

Some clarification: All the issues above were nonexistent before disassembling the phone, only the glass on the screen was broken. I did reconnect all connectors and nothing changed about my issues described above. I can assure you that all connectors sit properly in place (I did not try rubbing them down with alcohol yet but I am not sure if that is really necessary in a less than one year old phone and I did not touch the contacts)

Here the questions. Can all these issues be due to a bad replacement screen? I would be fine with buying a new home button and back plate for it should that part really be screwed up (but I did see in a different thread that even when a new home button is purchased it will not work because it needs to be paired to the phone on a software route by Apple themselves or one of their carriers?). Also, how could the calls and the back camera be affected by a faulty screen since the antennas and the back camera are in the body and have in my eyes not much to do with the front of the phone?

My issue is that I don't know where to start and I am limited on my funds to buy new parts to see whether the existing ones are broken, even though the might not be. Does anyone know where to start on this or maybe even an "easy" fix without buying dozens of new parts digging around for the needle in the haystack?

Thanks guys

iPhone 7 Plus: Phantom touch after screen replacement

Hi Everyone,

I recently replaced a 7 plus screen. Everything went well and everything works, however, every couple minutes there will be a random touch. Nothing constant and easily reproducible, however the phone will occasionally call someone randomly. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this? It was a cheap screen from Amazon so I'm wondering if this is the culprit.

Thanks!

iPhone 7 Plus: Why is my home button not working?

Hi. I replaced the screen on my iPhone 7 llplus as the glass had shattered and the screen started bleeding. I replaced the screen but transferred across my original home button as needed to use Touch ID. Before completely reassembling the phone, I tested the screen which worked. I also tested the home button which worked for Touch ID and also to press the home button. As soon as I press the screen into place in the casing of the phone, the button stops pressing, however Touch ID still works. I want to know why the home button is not pressing and how to fix this. If you lift the screen from the phone casing again, the button starts to press again. The issue only happens when the screen is pushed back down into place on the phone. I have tried adjusting how tight the screws are on the home button plate and also disconnected the Touch ID from the cable and reconnected but nothing is working. Please help.

A customer brought in an iphone 7 plus that was thrown against a wall. it had a bad lcd but could still see that the phone wouldnt boot past apple logo. now that i have the screen replaced it still stuck at apple logo and im trying to figure it out. customer has data backed up on icloud so 1st thing i tried was to restore/update in itunes. unfortunately i got error 9 every time. also if the phones off and i plug in the charger it will draw .8 amp until i unplug the charger and plug it back in. then no amp draw. im thinking tristar is the problem but not sure because there in physical damage on the heatshield of the board, where it got some small dents from the screws that clip into the frame of the screen. but its not near tristar. ill add some pics of the damage i can see.

I recently got my screen changed on my iPhone 7 plus. Now my speaker, to hear people while talking, and finger print button won't work!
iPhone 7 plus: gap between screen and metal frame on iPhone 7 plus

Hello, My Iphone 7 plus (Jet Black) has a tiny gap between the edge of the screen and the metal frame.I can see dust filling in the gap. The gap size is about I can put a thin paper in it. My phone is brand new out of the box and never drop or repair.

I search on internet and found that many people have this problem too. But, recently, no-one can confirm that this defect affect water resistance or not.

Here is the link

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iph...

My iPhone 7 plus has a gap on top and along the right side.

I did search on ifixit.com and found that there has a gasket seal along the edge but I'm still not sure this case (the gap) will have any affect on the gasket seal or not.

Please help me confirm about the water resistance on this case. and it will be great if you can post some closeup pictures about where the gasket seal sitting on and how it attach to the screen.

Thanks you so much in advance.
