iPhone 7: Why is my iPhone 7 boot looping after a screen replacement?

So a few days ago i bought a used iphone online. It had a cracked screen but worked just fine. I ordered a new screen and replaced it. After replacing it the problems started to happen. It would continuously boot loop.

I've tried to restore it using itunes several times. Sometimes it worked, but i couldn't get past the "hello" screen as the home button doesn't work anymore... I had to turn it back off in hopes it would start at language selection screen. Unfortunately, almost every time it shuts off it would go back into a boot loop. I've tried reconnecting the old screen too, but it's still boot looping.

I'm wondering if this is a software issue or if it's a hardware issue. If it is a hardware issue, is it the screen that sends it into a boot loop or can it be due to something else?

Any help would be much appreciated!

iPhone 7: Home button and sensors not working

I bought an iPhone 7 with a broken screen and after I replaced the screen the home button and the earpiece and front sensors are not working. The seller keeps saying everything was working and that I have broken it but I have been fixing iPhones for a while and had no problem like this even though I had been really careful with it. I don’t know what to do if eBay choose not to let me return it as apple is going to charge a lot to fix the home button. Is there anyway I could fix it without having to put more money into it? Also the phone takes a really long time to turn on which probably has to do with the home button not working.

However even with new camera the problem persist. the phone was dropped and the screen cracked. If it is plugged in properly and I know the camera is good, does that mean it is possibly a motherboard problem? i have done complete reboot/reset/firmware update. any thoughts?

iPhone 7: Phone has a mind of it's own after screen replacement

I have replaced many iPhone 7 screens now but I'm having a high ratio of phones coming back to me because of issues with the touch after the replacement. I've just been contacted by another customer saying that the screen has a mind of it's own, pressing button on it's own etc.

I'm buying what I consider to be good quality screens, certainly not cheap nasty ones. I'm installing correctly and testing before I give back to the customer (with the customer present) and all works great but within 24 hours they develop issues.

Can anyone offer any advice/solutions.

Thank you

It doesn't have the powering off spinning circle when it turns off it goes completely black. I don't know if i should replace the screen or if its something else. I don't wanna spend unnecessary money on the wrong things. please help. Is it the LCD cord detaching or is it my battery??? I'm so clueless.
iPhone 7: Buying AppleCare+ With a Cracked Screen

I got my iPhone on the 23rd and haven't bought Apple care yet. I dropped it on the face on a driveway from about my belly button height on the 28th, and the screen is cracked pretty good. I know that I can buy AppleCare+ on the phone or online and they run a diagnostic, but I was wondering if cracked glass would show up on that. I have seen some people talking about them checking gyroscope logs and things like that, but I don't think it would show up since the inpact was so small, but the screen didn't stand a chance with the rocks. Do you guys think I would be able to still buy AppleCare?

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 (1660) No Service

Hey! I have an iPhone 7 with no service issue. I am a micro-soldering technician but I am new to it. The iPhone does not show IMEI and putting a sim card into the sim port does not change or affect the status. I am wondering if I should start at the baseband or the Qualcomm chip that I hear normally fails. Thanks for your answers and I hope you have a great day!

————————-Edit————————-

Based on my readings, the capacitors around the chip are shorted. I assume that it’s the chip and not the caps themselves (I’ve tested 6 of them).

————————-Edit————————-

Removed the chip successfully, shorts and cleared and upon further inspection of the chip there is a bulge on it which I call: “The fry mark”.

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 destroys new batteries?

I replaced the old low capacity battery with a new one. Everything worked for about 3 days, after the iphone ran out of power and shut down. It wouldn't turn on anymore, I thought I had purchased a low quality battery. So I bought a new one.. iphone worked, went to charge normally.. then I let it discharge until it turned off and then it wouldn't turn on again. Same problem.. does anyone know what could be wrong? When I plug it into the charger nothing happens I just hear a slight popping sound. Any problem on the motherboard? (As long as I didn't let the iphone completely discharge it worked completely normal and went to charge, maybe it was just discharging a bit faster.)

iPhone 7: Dropped iPhone 7, screen shattered, won't turn on. HELP :(

I dropped my iPhone that already had a small crack in the corner of the screen. On impact, the screen completely shattered and has come off at the top and sides (I can peel back the screen and see the inside between the two metal plates [see picture]). It is still attached on the bottom by the home button. When I picked it up, the phone was unresponsive. Screen went completely black. I plugged it into my computer and opened itunes. It said “itunes has detected a device in recovery mode and you must restore”. All of a sudden, my phone got really hot, and I feared it was the battery. So I quickly unplugged it and took it outside to cool off.

Since then, I’ve tried plugging it into my computer and several wall-outlets with no luck. My mac no longer recognizes the device being plugged into to a USB port under “system report”. Itunes does nothing either when I plug it in. I’ve tried doing a soft and hard reset while the phone is plugged in, nothing. I’ve tried cleaning the lightning port. Nothing.

My question is, how can I get my data back (photos, text messages etc.). I don’t care about saving the phone, I just want my data back. Should I order a new battery and screen and try that? I live in a rural area with no repair shops around.

iPhone 7: Semi Bricked iPhone 7 after screen/earpiece/mic replacement.

A bit of a long story. Last fall i had my screen replaced on my iPhone 7 by apple. Shortly after i cracked it, then i think some water got inside, and the mic/ear piece started working intermittently.

I replaced the screen, mic, ear piece, and any ribbons associated (its been awhile since i did the repair) and now sometimes the phone would start, sometimes it would boot loop apple logo. Mostly it would boot loop.

Sometimes when it would load, the speaker/mic would work, sometimes it wouldnt. When it doesnt work, on a phone call the "speaker" icon would be greyed out.

Ive tried updating/downgrading to different iOS versions, with no success. The board appears to have no damage done to it. Is it possible i got a bad speaker or mic and these items are stopping it from booting?

If i do a DFU mode then do a restore, i can get the phone to boot the first time, 100% of the time. This makes me think that the OS doesnt do a hardware check on this first boot. Here is a video of it directly after doing the DFU restore, then rebooting the phone

https://youtu.be/vcv1UBDrJG0

Im at a loss. Does anyone have any ideas? Got a bad headphone/mic? bad screen? idk. Updating to iOS 11.3.1 seems to make it boot more often, but still boot loops for awhile.

iPhone 7: iPhone 7 no charge; Will power on, but boot loops

This one has me a little stumped..

I have an iPhone 7 that I got in a job lot. It’s cosmetically “perfect” and everything appears OK. It was missing the bottom screws which told me it had been opened. The battery wasn’t connected inside. I connected the charger (via amp meter), it draws 0 mA. Just on a whim, I tested with a known good charge port assembly, same result.

I connected it to my desk PSU with a 7 squid, and it appeared to boot just fine (no screen connected). So I connected a screen and prompted it to boot again. Apple logo and perfectly reasonable readings from the PSU, but it just keeps looping.

I have inspected the board under the microscope (though haven’t removed the shields yet) and there are no signs of anything wrong. Liquid indicators are crisp and white, no corrosion anywhere, nothing.

I have no indications of a short, as the mA’s are well within reason, so my guess was a sensor that kept it looping, but I can’t get access to the kernel logs :(

Hello, I am having a bit of a trouble with my iPhone 7. A few weeks ago, the phone was working perfectly until it began to shut down randomly. A soft reset would resolve the issue but the phone began to shut off randomly even more. I have tried to restore it many times using iTunes or on the iPhone but that did not fix anything. I have changed the battery which fixed the issue for a day and then the same problem. Now my iPhone won’t even boot after a soft reset. It sometimes shows the Apple logo with a pixelated screen and then go back to a black screen. It does show perfectly however the “plug in you iPhone” sign when you don’t have any charge left. Does anyone know what might be causing this issue ? It is pretty annoying. Thanks for your help. :)
