iPhone 6 Plus: Is it possible to replace the sim sensor

I had recently bought a iPhone off a friend who had never said the phone had damage. They had stated it had normal wear and tear. When I had went to turn the phone on I was told that the sim senor inside the phone was damaged hence it didn't read any sim card the lady was placing in. Does apple give any type of repair for that? What would need to be replaced? I took the phone to a third party and they said apple would fix it for 175$, does that sound about right?

iPhone 6 Plus: Powerless phone unless orginal screen is on it.

I have been doing repairs for over 2 years now and every now and then I get a 6 plus in that will not work with any other screen. I put a new screen on it and the phone will not power on or anything. I try another screen and Same problem. I put the original screen on it and the phone works fine. All the screws are the same, the LCD's are tested and work just fine. I am leaning hard towards some type of software error but not for sure. Didn't know if anyone else has had this problem or an idea on how to resolve it.

Hey.. :)

I have a question about this screen.. As you can see, the color changes when i touch the glass. Is it because of bad quality of screen or did i something wrong at the replacement?? I changed the whole back housing and the screen. I got the screen from aliexpress.. If its because of the bad quality, can anyone recommend a company og a supplier at aliexpress or something where the quality is top? I got this for 25 dollars..

Can i do something to do it better so it doesn't do that? Its very frustrating!

Iphone 6 plus: Cant plug my screen into my phone, it wont work.

Hi, I tried to change my phone screen because mine was cracked. I plugged in a screen from a different iPhone 6 plus. Everything worked. Then I tried going back to the old screen. Nothing popped up. I thought, this is weird. Then I tried to plug in the new screen. Nothing popped up. So I plug the cracked phone into my 2015 Macbook Pro, iTunes recognized it. So I plugged both the screens into the other iPhone 6 plus, everything worked fine. So I plug the screen back into the cracked iPhone, and again nothing popped up. The phone has a charge, and the vibration works. (To sum it up: Any screen I plug into the cracked iPhone wont work. When I put the Screens into a different iPhone they work.) Any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks

iPhone 6 Plus: What happened to quality control?

I'm on my third iFixit display assembly and I'm not happy. The very 1st display I got was a perfect replacement and fit well. Only issue was the front camera went bad so I RMA-ed it and got a new one. #2 wasn't fitting correctly and caused stress which created light bleed. It took a long time to get another replacement because I could tell they hardly believed me another display was bad. But I got #3 and the box I got it in was damaged, the display was missing screws from the back heat shield plate and now it fits even worse to where the display's edge is no longer flush around the phone and it feels like it's too big for the frame. So now I can feel the display edges and it feels just plain cheap, not to mention there's a gap in the top right corner. I know after the first display they ran out of stock, but I'm guessing they must have gotten a bad batch. Now idk what to do. Should I email them a fourth time or is it useless?

iPhone 6 Plus: Can I test for bad A8 cpu?

I have a iphone 6 plus with water damage. After running it through the ultra sonic cleaner I put power to it and it doesn't draw any power. Found short on C1203 and C1227. Last phone I had with this issue (these caps sorted) turned out to be a problem with the cpu, only difference was cpu would get warm and draw was .5a. Only after removing that did the short clear.
iPhone 6 Plus: Searching or no service

Hi Guys.

OK got a 6 plus thats having a few issues which i'm trying to put right for a client.

She had a screen replacement from a so called reputable shop which in all honesty was a mess 3 times they tried & in the end put a broken screen on & refunded her saying the fault was with the body by the volume controls which where there was damage.

I replaced the screen for her & we tested it here she had full signal & was able to send & receive calls i also attempted to straighten out the damage to the body.

it was all working fine except for no sound from the main speaker on the phone which i said if she could pop back i would take a look at it for her.

Just so i can get this straight in my head the top left of the board the antenna there is the wifi & bluetooth & the GSM antenna is part of the lightning/headphone port with the connection just below the battery connector on the board i could be wrong I'm hoping someone will point me in the right direction if i am?

I'm suspecting the issue is down to the lightning port cable as it also has the speaker issue too.

What are your thoughts guys any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

iPhone 6 Plus: Broke LCD connector attachment

Hey all! So today I was simply reseating the LCD connectors because there was some screen glitchiness... and it worked! However, something went wrong with the front camera connection, as it didnt initialize, so I opened it back up to check it. Unfortunately, when I pulled up the LCD connector at the very top (the longest one), the pin on the connector itself seems to have bent. I tried simply bending it back, but eventually, it broke off. So, is a replacement for this connector possible or am I going to have to replace the whole LCD?
