iPhone 5: Screen won't close tight after reassembly

Hi.

I've done some fixing on my iPhone 5, and followed the iFixit tutorial for that. I have reassembled my phone, after replacing the power and audio control flex cable, which means a lot of parts, including the logic board. Anyway, everything works fine now, but the device isn't closed tight enough, so the screen, on its upper part (near the power button), is protruding about 1.5mm up. I am aware that I should fit the screen in an order such that I first fit the upper part of it and only then the bottom, but once I fit the bottom, the upper part goes up a mm or so.

It's weird that once I fit the lower part of the screen this happens, because I never disassembled anything in the lower part of the device such as a speaker or anything, not even a single screw there was ever touched.

Please help. :)

iPhone 7 Plus: iPhone 7 Plus - Front Camera + Proximity Sensor causing malfunctioning

I did a iphone 7 plus screen replacement today & for some reason the phone starts to malfunction everytime I have the Front Camera + Prox Sensor ribbon cable attached. When attached the phone lags, the home button does not work - it shows the accessibilty icon to use as a home button, and the phone acts very weird.

At first I thought it was the replacement screen but I replaced all the part on the original screen that was cracked & I am getting the same issues.

When I disconnect ONLY the Front Camera + Prox sensor Ribbon cable, leaving the two other ribbon cables connected the phone functions perfectly fine. Home button works again, screen is 100% responsive with no lag at all. The phone works perfect.

The issues only occur when I have front camera + prox sensor connected.

I tried the original screen that was cracked & two other replacement screens. All get the same results as I just listed.

As long as the front camera + prox sensor isnt connected the phone functions perfectly, cant find a problem.

Does anyone have a solution to this? Unfortunetley I was unable to try a new proximity sensor + front camera because I did not have any on me.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

I have searched the web but cannot find a solution.

I disconnected the battery before I removed all 3 ribbon cables, as I do with every repair.

Help would be greatly appreciated ! =D

iPhone 6 Plus: New screen flickers and touch doesn't work

iPhone 6 Plus, bought it with a cracked screen. Had been dropped. Screen was cracked, so I bought a new screen. The phone with the old screen would flicker/flash white bars on the top of the LCD and touch would almost never work. If it did, it was after sitting for awhile. I replaced it with a new assembly and it's doing the same exact thing as the old cracked one. What gives?

Update

UPDATE: Still works every once in awhile, but I noticed that if I bend the phone backwards, touch works. If I want to navigate the phone, I just bend it and it works. ould that be a board issue?

iPhone 4S: Constant charging / sync / startup sound but no display no boot

Hi, I've purchased a iPhone 4S off ebay with the aim of fixing it. It is in great condition inside and out, however won't turn on or boot and there is no display. When plugged into the wall socket it just makes the charging chirp sound over and over again, but that is all. When plugged into a computer it does nothing, no show in iTunes. All the seller was able to say was that he tried to fix the screen and it worked before that, but couldn't get it to work properly after that. Any ideas what could be wrong, what needs to be replaced? If it was just a faulty screen shouldn't the phone still charge and why is it making the constant sound?

iPhone 11: Message After Screen Replacement - Has anyone manged to solve?

Hi All,

I hear recently that there could be a solution for the warning message that appears after screen replacement. It was suggested to me that it might be possible to transfer an IC from the original screen flex to a new screen.

Does this sound plausible, has anyone managed it yet? Such a shame, I’m turning down loads of iPhone 11 repairs…

iPhone 6 Plus: What is causing my screen to be unresponsive?

My iPhone 6 plus screen becomes unresponsive to my touch when i try to use it. There is a white/gray bar going across just the top of my phone horizontally not vertically. I opened my phone up and reapplied the connections on the board. This seems to help the issue for about an hour but then the phone becomes unresponsive again. The phones tends to be unresponsive when the white/gray bar shows up at the top of screen.

In order to temporarily fix the issue I put force on the top end kind of bending it in the center or also pinching the screen by the ear piece helps the screen become responsive. If anyone has any recommendations on how to resolve this issue please let me know. This issue is becoming more of a burden then anything. Thank you in advance and I hope to hear some advice soon.

iPhone 6: iPhone 6 Screen Won't Close Tight After Replacement

Hello.

I've just replaced my iPhone 6's cracked screen(front panel replacement).

Everything works fine but I can't seem to get the screen to fully fit into the frame. There is a really slight layer outside. It's apparent if I use the back gesture on the screen.

This isn't my first repair. I've been repairing for a long time but I'd like to get a second opinion. I checked the screen replacement, if I correctly transferred the camera and other stuff, but I couldn't seem to detect any loose parts. Also I tried reattaching the cracked screen(without the camera and the home button integrated) to see how it goes and it fitted perfectly.

So could it be a defect or am I missing something?

Thanks.

iPhone 3GS: How to fix "Charging not supported by this accessory" problem?

I'm trying to get a used iPhone 3GS to charge properly but continually get the "Charging is not supported by this accessory" message. The phone is running iOS 6.1.6. The seller said it had been jail-broken at one point but that that had been undone (restored via DFU mode).

I've tried three cables: an Amazon branded one, a Belkin and an Apple (from an iPhone 1). All gave me the "not supported" message. However, all work fine with my other iPhone 3GS (never jail-broken).

These are the other things I've tried but have proved fruitless:

- Restoring the iPhone,

- using an Apple USB wall charger (directly, not through a cradle) with all three of the above cables

- Installing two different dock assemblies

- Installing a new battery bought from ifixit

- shorting the data lines of the cable (saw it on Youtube) on the phone side of the cable

Interestingly, cooling the phone either in the fridge or on an ice-pack before charging seems to increase the chances of a successful charge, but I worry about the condensation that builds up on the phone as it warms up.

Sometimes the phone trickle-charges despite the error message but other times it does not. If it does, it usually takes overnight to do so. Sometimes if I jam the cable hard or stick it in partially or wonky, it’ll charge ok without the error message for maybe 20 seconds. Rarely will it charge all the way without the "charging not supported" message.

At this point, I can only conclude that there's either there's a motherboard hardware issue or that Apple's tight-fisted attempts to destroy functionality of 3rd party accessories that somehow don't meet its hardware standards via software/firmware updates has essentially bricked this phone.

Any suggestions for further troubleshooting would be appreciated.
