iPad 3: Ipad 3 registering touches and swipes after screen replacement.

Right away, this is different than any other thread I've found.

I was replacing the ipad 3 glass/digitizer. Everything seemed to be working normal, so I laid it in the frame. On final testing there was a slight phantom touch along the bottom. I reset the unit, but it did not resolve. I pulled the glass out of the frame, and it continued. I reseated the digitizer cable, and again it continued. Finally I removed the digitizer to try a different one, and noticed with no digitizer, it still was registering touches and swipes.

Does anyone know what I might have done, and how to fix this? The zif connectors for the cable are undamaged.

iPad 2 Wi-Fi EMC 2415: Brainstorm: iPad2 was dropped, now black LCD but backlight works

A dropped iPad 2 has been brought to me by a client. LCD screen is black but backlight turns on. I did some research and it seems there are two reasons this is happening: 1. The LCD is bad, or 2. The logic board has a broken circuit or jumper that needs to be bridged/resoldered. I really don't want to have to open it unless I know for sure what I need to fix. Can a backlight still work if the logic board is the problem? Is there anything I can try, short of opening it up, that can help me pinpoint what the solution would be? I don't have the proper soldering equipment yet, so I don't want to open it and then realize I'll have to send it out for resoldering. Thanks in advance.

iPad Air Wi-Fi: Shifted smart cover magnets, easy fix?

It seems like the upper right smart cover magnet in my iPad air has shifted and is no longer functional.

I used to hear little clicks from my iPad Air whenever closing the Smart Cover or opening it so it wraps all the way around.

I eventually figured out that it was a magnet meant to hold the smart cover clicking when moving around inside the case.

After opening and closing the case several times, it seems the upper right magnet (near the camera) has shifted significantly enough to keep it from holding the smart cover in place while open and wrapped around.

The real issue, however, is that when closed, the rightmost part of the cover simply hovers above the panel!

The magnet must have flipped itself upside down.

No amount of messing about with the cover seems to get the magnet to shift again.

This isn't an issue justifying arduously opening the glued together panel in my opinion, so I wanted to know if there is any other way of repairing this?

I thought about taking a larger magnet and trying to shift the panel magnet back into place, but I'm worried about harming the electronics.

Any ideas?
