iPad Wi-Fi: iPod App on my iPad not working anymore

I have my iPad for only about a week. Jailbroken. Not too many Cydia apps on it. Mainly infiniboard. Anyway, I have noticed today, that when I push iPod button on my iPad, it shows a music menu for about 3 seconds and going back to spring board. Tried to remove all music from iTunes and re-sync. Not helped. Tried to mess with iPod settings. Not too many of them out there and not helped either. I'm out of ideas. Can't restore, because I would have to update and lose the jailbreak.

iPad 3 Wi-Fi: How to tell if glass is OEM.

Hello fellow fixers,

I have a new supplier now out of china that claims they sell OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture), or Apple parts. So the same parts that originally come on the device whether it be iPad, iPod, or iPhone.

I did a glass replacement on an iPad 3 for a customer. He came back not too much longer and had some issues with the glass peeling up just a bit...not a problem some more glue will hold it in. But while removing the glass to install better adhesive the glass cracked(&^$* $85 in the hole). This seemed to crack SUPER easy. Most the time when removing the OEM glass I can get it off with out cracking the glass with some safe pry tools, heat, and patience.

Also I have heard of the OEM glass water droplet test. Basically just a quarter size drop of water on the glass, and move it around. If it stays together and is easy to control its OEM, if not its a copy.

Here's my question: Are there any other ways to tell if the glass is OEM.

And, is the water droplet test legit and does it really work?

Thank you for the help

(sorry for the novel)

iPad 2 Wi-Fi EMC 2415: After Screen/digitizer Replacement, the power button is not working.

Hello all..

This is my first post, so kid gloves please.

I did the research first before carrying out this task, ie making note of where cables are etc....

My ipad2 for some reason is not like the others for instance, the power cable (top right section) is not visable (I have pictures if needed) all other cables are where they should be.

Now i've checked the cables and re-seated twice and tested the ipad2 and it all works apart from the power cable. Wifi good, sound up n down working, mute working, sleep/home button working.

Now the ipad2 was off before I started and it never came on when i was removing the old screen.

I had to plug the usb recharge cable in to find out that the power button was not working.

I have discharged the battery, still not working.

So is there someone out there that might give me any pointers as to what is going on?

Do i have a faulty digitizer? any suggestions no matter how odd ball it may seem are welcome....yeah yeah No jokers. :))

iPad 3 Wi-Fi: Can the new iPad use the iPad 2 Smart covers?

I just got an iPad 3 or "the New iPad" but I haven't gotten a case for it yet and I am considering buying a smart cover or a case with magnets that can use the same sleep/wake function as the smart cover.

Looking on Amazon, I saw that some had the same ability, but warn that the sleep/wake function is inaccessible on the iPad 3. As far as I know, it might be because the sensors were moved to a different location.

So, as the question above states, can I use a Smart Cover made for an iPad 2 on my iPad 3 and still get the all the functions including the sleep/wake ability?

iPad 3 4G: Can a Scratch on LCD be repaired

Hi theres probably not going to be a solution but is it possible to remove a scratch on the LCD.

I have scratched the LCD on this screen repair i was doing.

I do take extreme care when replacing screens but the screen shattered on this one & the tool i was using to get the shattered bits of glass off slipped

Its not a deep gouge you can't feel it if you run your finger over it but it is a white line which won't go when i use alcohol cleaner.

Is there any tip for cleaning this up apart from replacing the whole LCD (i have already ordered a replacement & its on its way)
