Grazie

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Re-sealing the back cover of the phone after opening

I bought a used Note 20 Ultra, and there are gaps in the side of the phone that indicate that the back is not on properly. I think it has to do with the adhesive; there is a bit of adhesive on the side. When I press down on the back of the phone the gaps close, but they open once I release it. Do you think applying something like an iOpener would melt the adhesive enough so that the phone will close and maintain its IP68 rating?

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Battery Power Connector Burnt Repair

Hi, I was wondering how do I go about repairing the battery connector area.

The phone had been exposed to some seawater after the adhesives came apart, and caused a short circuit and burnt the connectors together (both board side and battery flex cable side).

I believe that the vbat(?) and temp sense pads have been lifted off together with the burnt power connector component. The other pads still have some copper on its surface for soldering.

How do I fill and restore a makeshift pad? I have tried using a hot air gun, but I believe the board is too cold for solder paste to melt together. I don't own a rework/reflow station, and hoping not need to purchase one.

I was thinking if a lower temperature solder paste would work? Or would silver conductive epoxy such as MG 8331S can be used to remake the pads (not sure if solder can join on top of the silver epoxy)?

I'm trying to resolder this SMD part (https://phoneparts.mt/product/samsung-bo...) back onto the board.

Thank you.

Edit1: Picture of the area around. (It's still a stacked motherboard.)

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Front facing camera not working after service pack replacement

I recently repaired a friends Note 20 ultra screen with a service pack. The repair went well with swapping all the original parts over. However when we booted the phone the front facing camera will not work. I went through and pulled the original camera from the original housing to try that. Since the service pack came with one in place I thought maybe it was faulty. However even after using the original and going through and factory resetting and doing everything I could find online to do still no dice. The front facing camera still will not work. Anyone run in to this issue or know how to potentially remedy this?

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Nothing changed after a battery change

The old battery was very weak, over 4 years old at this point, and the Samsung Members app was saying that the battery health is low. So I bought the battery here on iFixit about 2-3 weeks ago, and successfully changed it. First of all did the battery calibration method as prescribed on the box, charged it to 100%, and let it drain, did it a few times. Still nothing changed, the phone kept saying it has 10 hours of battery life at 100% and rapidly going down from there. Samsung Members still said low health, and AccuBattery reports about 82% of battery life remaining. Next I tried resetting the BatteryStats in *#9900# menu, nothing changed. Today a system message appeared saying that the battery is degrading. Seeing that still nothing changed, I wiped the cache from the recovery menu, but it still seems to have done nothing. Has anyone else encountered this and found a solution? I read on XDA that a solution might be in rooting the phone, changing some files and flashing back to stock, so it resets the battery life to 100%, but this seems like a stupid solution to such a simple problem, if it were some other phone i would perhaps do it, but considering it's a Samsung, rooting will make me lose a ton of features I wouldn't want to lose.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra: Water damaged. No wifi, no network, cant reset

I went to a water park and the phone was soaked in water. I left it in the rice container for 3 days out in the sun and it finally booted up. The phone was in airplane mode, no wifi, no network. I did a reboot and still nothing. When i ejected SIM tray it said no SIM found but when i put it back in, no network or wifi. I tried to reset wifi and network several times but didn't help. I cannot do a factory reset because it says i needed wifi. At this point im guessing these 2 features are on 1 component and it got damaged somehow. What part do i order so i can swap out and bring my phone back to life? Thank you
