PlayStation 5: Ventola parte anche da Ps5 spenta.Fan starts even with Ps5switched off

Salve a tutti, ho una domanda visto che sono poco esperto, ha una ps5 che fa una cosa parecchio strana. Un annetto fa mi si ruppe lo slot (non so come si chiama) sulla scheda madre dove ci viene attaccata la ventola di Raffreddamento. L'ho portata da una personale per far saldare il "pezzettino" e di lì è ripartita senza problemi, dopo 4/5 mesi la ventola ha smesso di funzionare, quindi ho sostituito la ventola e tutto è tornato nella norma, fino a che, da un mesetto praticamente la ps5 anche da spenta (non standby) parte la ventola al fortissimo. Quindi ho provato di nuovo a cambiare ventola e ho preso prima un modello che a volte partita e a volte no, dopo ripreso il modello di quella che avevo montato su e anche quella nuova fa lo stesso tipo di problema, oltretutto ora è peggiorata la situazione perché la ventola sia con la ps5 accesa che spenta va sempre al massimo della velocità. La domanda è da cosa può dipende? Un contatto sulla saldatura che mi hanno fatto o è un'altro problema? Grazie mille a tutti e scusate il "monologo"

Hi all, I have a question as I'm not very experienced, I have a ps5 that does a very strange thing. A year or so ago the slot (don't know what it's called) on the motherboard where the cooling fan is attached to it broke. I took it to a personal to have the "little piece" soldered on and from there it started up again without any problems, after 4/5 months the fan stopped working, so I replaced the fan and everything went back to normal, until, for the last month or so the ps5 even when switched off (not standby) starts the fan at the loudest. So I tried again to change the fan and I first got a model that sometimes started and sometimes didn't, then I got the model of the one I had mounted on and even the new one does the same kind of problem, moreover now the situation has worsened because the fan both with the ps5 on and off always goes at maximum speed. The question is what can it depend on? A contact on the soldering they did to me or is it another problem? Thanks a lot everyone and sorry for the "monologue"

PlayStation 5: Barriera protettiva APU mancante

Ciao a tutti, un annetto fa ho portato a riparare la mia ps5 per surriscaldamento ma a quanto pare hanno fatto solo che danni visto che mi hanno rimosso la barriera di spugna protettiva intorno all' APU mentre cercavano di sostituire il metallo liquido (con della pasta termica tra l'altro) non risolvendo nulla. Dopo un anno e poco più ho deciso di darmi da fare personalmente e ho preso del metallo liquido thermal grizzly e voglio applicarlo, il problema é che non ho più la barriera e ho cercato di comprarla ma a quanto pare non si trova. Come posso fare?

Last night in the middle of a round of Overwatch 2, the ps5 randomly cut off. New outlet, new cable tried, totally unresponsive. No lights, no beeps as long as I hold it.

PlayStation 5: Possible Missing Component In SSD Slot?

My husband and I were trying to install the WD_BLACK 1TB SN850x w/ Heatsink and could not get the PS5 to register it was there. We tried resetting the SSD multiple times but the expected screen to format the card never popped up.

I've returned the SSD and am going to get a replacement but we both separately noticed that the SSD slot on our PS5 might be missing a component that may also be a factor?

Every picture I've seen of the slot shows there being a green plate that the SSD sits on. Ours does not have this and trying to get the spacer to stay put definitely feels like it's on hard mode.

Anyone else have any experience with this? Is this just a manufacturing difference or should we be reaching out to Sony for a replacement?

PlayStation 5: PS5 SSD installation - replacement screw and spacer

I tried to install a new WD SN850 SSD in my PS5 last night. However when I went to remove the screw and spacer in the bay, the screw was stuck, and I just can’t remove it at all. I’m looking for a replacement screw and spacer to fit the SSD. Does anyone have any recommendations from Amazon UK or any other retailer? I’ve contacted Sony, but they haven’t got back to me at all, which isn’t a good sign. Many thanks in advance.

Hello, I specify that I am a beginner in micro-welding.

However, am I the only one with so many problems that prevent me from repairing?

I am currently working on a PS5 motherboard, the problem is that the soldering of the HDMI port is bad (so to redo). I try to desolder the port with a hot air station, but the solder flatly refuses to melt! I tried with several temperatures ranging from 300°C to 450°C, without forgetting to preheat the card. I thought for a long time that the problem was my flux, but... no.

It seems that the alloy that attaches the HDMI port to the motherboard is not tin, otherwise it will melt more easily! In that case, what is it?

I also tested on a PS4 HDMI port: nothing to do, the solder does not melt.

I've tried hot air soldering with a PC motherboard, and everything works fine, which shows that it's not my soldering hardware that's having problems.

Is there something I don't know or am I just being stupid?

unfortunately i need to replace one of the ribbon-cables in the Dualsense-Controller. Its the one that connects the Vibration motors wirh the mainboard. Any Idea if i can use a different one? Or is this some special Sony thing?

Hey! My PS5 will not show connection but turns on fine. Sometimes I'll get a glimpse of the start screen but it primarily shows a glitchy red blotch and static screen. Ive switched the Hdmi cord with a new ones, connected to different TVs and can only think its the port having issues. How can I go about repairing this?

PlayStation 5: Which power supply to get: 400DR or 400ER?

Hi,

I am looking to replace power supply in a PS5. The console is from the first batch, the very first model of everything. I disassembled to confirm that the power supply's model is ADP-400DR.
Obvious choice would be to replace with the same, but given that it died (un- or less- reliable perhaps) and there is a newer 400ER version on the market which seems compatible by size, contacts and screws placement (yet newer 400FR is not compatible for sure).

Is it a good idea, you think, to replace 400DR with 400ER?

PlayStation 5: Ps5 weird shutdown issue... plz help!

A PS5 I'm working on is having a weird issue I haven't seen before. When you power it on it'll run for anywhere from a minute to 10 minutes perfectly, no video issues or anything. The it will blank out with a long beep only heard thru whatever tv it's plugged into, then immediately power off.

Power it back on it'll do a quick repair for not powering off properly then boot back up. Then it will run again for a minute to ten minutes then the same thing...

I've done a tear down and no obvious signs of anything burned out. Any suggestions on what could be going on? Anything to point me in a direction of a chip to replace or anything would be great.

PlayStation 5: PS5 Disc Drive Failure

My PS5 (model CFI-1115A) is no longer reading any discs. It takes the disc in, sounds like it's starting to read it, but then it stops. There's an error on the screen that the discs are unreadable. I am assuming this is most likely a laser issue, given that discs insert, spin, and eject just fine. I see that there are replacement lasers available on eBay, as well as replacement drives. Are the lasers compatible with all models, or are there differences between the models? Am I better off getting a full replacement drive, and transferring the daughterboard over?

Hello, is there any consensus on what the thickness of replacement thermal pads should be? I've seen both 1.5 and 1.0 mm. 1.5 mm seems to be more common, but I haven't found any definitive proof.

Hello,
Haven't played my ps5 for a while.
a few days ago, I tried to turn it on, there was a blue light, then it changes to white for a few milliseconds + beeps 3 times, and shuts off.
It looks like a common issue, can anyone direct me on how to fix it? (ps5 no longer has a warranty )
