Ho riscontrato un problema (risolto) sul DC-DC Conv.

La console non si accendeva proprio

Dopo averlo sistemato e sostituito il fuse F1 bruciato si accende ma non va l'audio (che inizialmente funzionava perché sentivo il classico suono del logo) e nemmeno lo schermo che palesemente si accende ma tende a far apparire delle linee nere fino ad esser tutto così. Sarà un problema di condensatori?

Quali devo sostituire per essere sicuro?

Ho comprato ad una fiera del fumetto una cartuccia giapponese di pokemon argento. Ci gioco per un'ora e vedo che non salva. Mi documento su quale sia il problema e decido di andare da un orologiaio per sostituire la batteria ma mi dice che è carica al 95% circa ma il gioco continua a non salvare i dati. Sapete dirmi perché?

I've bought the Japanese version of pokemon silver and after an hour of gaming I saved and turned it off. When I turned it on again I saw that the game didn't saved my data. So I searched the problem on the net and I decided to go to a watchmaker to change the battery but he said that it was at 95% charge but my game still doesn't save data. Can you help me?

Game Boy Color: Gameboy Color Reads GB games, but wont launch GBC games

I have this old GBC that I'm having an issue with that I haven't seen before. Admittedly I'm no expert when it comes to these handheld systems, but I can't for the life of me figure out why it would be throwing this issue. I have a copy of Tetris for the original DMG and a copy of Driver for the GBC. It reads and plays Tetris just fine with no issues, but when Driver is put in it goes through the Game Boy splash screen with a perfectly clear Nintendo logo, but just sits on a white screen when it tries to boot. The games work fine on any other GBC and GBA/SP I've used just fine, so I know for certain that it isn't the games. The only thing I can think of is one of the chips is bad, but I wouldn't really begin to know which one would be bad. Any advice would be much appreciated.

I'm having trouble with the Gameboy game not loading on my Gameboy Color. it's "Looney tunes "twouble!" ".

this game has gave me trouble in the past but now it won't boot at all whatsoever. now all I get is the Game Boy Color logo and just "®".

I have tested every of your game on your own and it always results with always booting or requiring a bit of coaching to get it booting

there is no sound coming through speaker and headphone jack, just the hiss sound

at first i tried cleaning with isopropyl 99%, nothing happens

i have already replaced the speaker with a new one still does not fix

i also re-solder the connection on volume wheel, still no sound

Game Boy Color: Gameboy Color Won't Turn On.

Hey all,

My first question here. I have a Gameboy color that won’t turn on. Things I’ve tried:

-Walked through the ifixit teardown video

-Cleaned all electronic parts and board with Isopropyl Alcohol

-Changed the batteries ( I knew this must be said)

-Visually checked the soldered parts and capacitors

This thing looks as clean as the day it was bought. I don’t know why it won’t turn on. No light no sound, nothing. Any thoughts on what to do next? (I’m in IT networking, but new to electronics so go nice and easy on me haha) Thanks for any help!

I cleaned the switch components really well with IA and still no activity. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Game Boy Color: Issue with AC jack turning on

So when I'm trying to turn this gameboy color on with the AC Adapter the light will flicker for a second and only sometimes will it power on (shown in video below). But if I bridge pins 1 and 2 on the jack as soon as I stop the bridge it will turn on every time( also shown below) I'm assuming this is a faulty power jack but would like a second opinion.

also this Gameboy turns on just fine with batteries it's just the AC jack that is finicky

Game Boy Color: One of my d-pad buttons isn't working

Down on the d-pad will not work. I have tried cleaning the contacts with alcohol and everything, and even got a new button kit (including the rubber things underneath the buttons that touch the contacts) and I still have the same problem.

Game Boy Color: new cartridge battery, game saves, but dissapears after a little while

i have changes battery for a pokemon gold version. the game boots up first time after battery change, starts a new file since there were naturally no save file there. i play for a few minutes, saves the game. turns off gameboy, then turns it on again. the save file is there. i leave it overnight, and no save file. i can still save and turn it off and on to find the file there, it just dissapears after a little while. have anyone encountered this problem before

Game Boy Color: [GBC] game won't boot, cartridge works fine with an other GBC

So I recovered an old gameboy and changed the screen that was broken. The process seems to have succeeded as I could see the Game boy logo upon turning on the device.

I tried it when a Pokemon yellow cartridge but the game won’t start. I have a blank screen without sound. I tested this same cartridge with an other GBC and it works fine, which means that the problem doesn’t originate from the cartridge.

I tried to look at the pins in the cartridge receiver of the GBC, but it also seems fine.

Does someone have encountered a similar issue ?

Game Boy Color: My game boy color doesn't start games..but in a weird way

I had this problem for a while now and I can't seem to find a way to fix it. When I insert a game in my game boy color and turn it on,it seems to be good,you know ; you see the game boy logo appear with that classic sound and the nintendo logo under it.But it just freezes after the sound and it doesn't start the game.I tried with all my games (all my games are working on other gameboys) and I oppenned it trying to find something unusual, but nothing! I also searched all over the internet but still nothing here...

Does somebody have the same problem like me? Or can someone solve the problem?

The D-Pad on my GBC is not working correctly when I push it normal it’s recognizing it as double click and when it push hardly it working just normal I just tried to clean the contacts and it didn’t work any other ideas?

Hello! I have this game boy color with a messed up speaker and while trying to strip the wire I accidentally cut it, and it is way too short. I don’t have any wire the same size as this, but I have one that is smaller. Will this red wire work? It is about 1/2 to 1/3 the size.

Game Boy Color: Cannot get sound from the main speaker

Hello everyone. I am at my wits end here trying to repair a special Pikachu edition of a Gameboy Color. I have read several articles saying this edition seems to have a lot of sound issues. So, these are the things that are working and not working and what I have replaced/tested.

Currently, there is no sound coming out of the main speaker. I replaced it with a brand new speaker (twice) and still no luck. I have conducted a conductivity test on the speaker itself (good), on the wires leading from the speaker to the motherboard (good), and on the motherboard solder joints (good).

I have tested the headphone jack. When headphones are plugged in, I do get sound from them. Spinning the volume control does increase and decrease the sound. Unplugged and no sound from the main speaker. Tested conductivity from the headphone disconnect to the motherboard and it’s good (so the speaker disconnect doesn’t appear to be stuck). Just to be sure, I plugged in and out a jack a dozen times just in case to loosen it. Still no sound.

I tested the original speaker that came with the Gameboy, it actually still has conductivity so it appears to be working fine. This Gameboy was stored for the past 10 - 12 years in a cardboard box in an outdoor garage. No water damage to the box but it was subjected to extreme conditions (-10 to -60 degree winters, 80 to 100 degree summers). No batteries were stored in the Gameboy so no erosion or acid damage. Before being placed into storage, the speaker worked fine. All other aspects of the Gameboy seem to be working just fine; no screen distortion, powers on and off fine, and plays any game put into it.

I can’t figure it out and it’s bugging me. Sure, I can play games with headphones on but I REALLY want sound from the main speaker. If I’m missing something, I can’t figure out what it is. Any help (besides buying a new GBC, hehe) would be helpful. Thank you.
