Solid State Drive: utility disco non riesce a formattare

DiskManagement.disenter errore 49153).

avete qualche idea?

SD Card: SD Cards Slow Down Android... Sorry if it's been asked before...

So I know plenty of people will probably get riled up over this, but I'm gonna ask it anyway...

Do Android phones get slowed down by having an SD card installed?

Before you jump right to the NO answer, because I know that most people think that this is one of the major plusses of Android as an OS, and everyone uses SD cards... Hear me out...

I've had a T-Mobile G1, G2, MyTouch 4g Slide, Galaxy S3, Note 3 and Note 4. With every single one of them I've used SD cards. I've always had pitifully slow experiences, but I love Android so I stick around. It's always great when I first get it, or after a system wipe. But once I put in an SD card, things start to slow down. No I haven't been using the same SD card. Yes I've formatted the SD cards in various stages of using them. They're all top of the line, highly recommended cards. Whatever is recommended in the forums as the best of the best at that time is what I've gotten. They're not particularly full. The main reason I get them is for the camera, because all those pictures and videos can fill up my internal storage which I have to use for apps and games. I currently have around 10gb free on my 32gb Note 4. I wiped my phone (and formatted my 64gb card) less than a month ago because of bad performance. After getting all set back up and running great, I popped back in my freshly formatted 64gb card. Pretty much right away I started noticing the difference in performance. Now it's been a month and I actually have stuff on the card, and it's just dreadful. Opening the camera can take a solid 10 seconds. Sometimes I hit home and everything is just frozen for 5-10 seconds before the home comes back up. Opening Facebook brings up a white screen for at least 3-5 seconds. Opening the app switcher always takes 5 seconds (that's a known bug from what I've read). It's just laggy. It's awful. And again, I've formatted the card, so I know there's not some data on it that's causing the issues. As for whether or not it's the card itself? Well like I said, in a history of 6 phones, I've probably had 8 or 9 different cards. So while I haven't specifically tried a different card in THIS phone, I can 99% guarantee that a different card wouldn't make a difference. Plus if that WAS the problem... What did I get 8 or 9 bad cards out of 8 or 9 cards? is the microSD card industry that bad? haha.

So anyway. I think this weekend I'm gonna figure out what is on my card currently since the last format (who knows what apps put what on there), and see if it will be cool for me to just pop out the card and try living SD-free for a little bit, even though it's gonna be impossible to manage storage with just the 32gb included. But if it works faster, then I'll know for sure.

In the meantime, I'm just curious. Am I alone here? I know I'm not, because I have a couple friends who used to call me crazy but have recently started saying (and acting like it's THEIR observation and I never said it before) that Android with an SD Card in sucks. But I'm wondering in this forum, since I"ve gotten help in here in the past, who agrees with me?

Here's hoping the T-Mobile variant of the Note 5 has a bare minimum of 64gb storage (praying for 128). I'll gladly pay extra for it.

Solid State Drive: How to repair an internal SSD that was damaged by setting up RAID?

When I say that I “did RAID on it,” I mean that I configured it in RAID mode. I did this by configuring the SATA port to use SuperSpeed Storage Configuration (RAID 0) on a ROG MAXIMUS XI Gene motherboard with BIOS version 2004. The RAID configuration was created between an internal HDD (I don’t know which one right now) and an internal KingSpec SSD, model P3-256, with a capacity of 256.0 GB and a SATA III 6 Gb/s interface. I am attaching the S.M.A.R.T. information for the SSD I mentioned earlier. It appears in the last two attached screenshots, in chronological order from right to left. The partition screen in DMDE looks like the one shown in the image further up and to the left. When I double-click the $Noname partitions and expand $Root, I can see a folder/file tree underneath each one. This is shown in all the attached screenshots, in chronological order from bottom to top and from right to left.

Solid State Drive: Adata 256GB SSD died, **I fixed it**, now I can't recover data from it

I have an Adata 256GB SSD that just died all of a sudden, PC would not see it in BIOS, and plugging it in externally to other PC's would not do anything, it wouldn't even show up in disk management. I ended up taking it apart and reflowing it, and surprisingly, It Worked!

Now it shows up in disk management as unallocated, and my GetData Recover My Files software could see and scan it. Unfortunately, it could not find any files on it (I have always used this software for data recovery and have had a fairly high success rate with it).

Does anyone have any suggestions for software to recover data from a functioning (I guess) SSD? I appreciate any help. Thanks!

This stick has 5 PINS which do not follow normal USB stick convention. I need to resolder a 4 pin USB-A cable to the board and need to know which pins are VCC, GND, D+, and D-,.....I have buzzed out with a meter but come up with nothing except the middle pin pictured is GND ?? go figure...anyone know anything at all about this ? SANDISK will not release any pinouts or schematic

Update (05/27/26)

Photo with RED must be the 4 PIN USB A 2.0 connections.....unfortunately it is snapped off the board taking half the tracks with it by the looks. I am locating the same stick to recreate the tracks, connect the 4 x USB wires, and hopefully recover data !!

Thanks everyone for your help !

Solid State Drive: SSD Suddenly Stopped Working.

So, upon restarting my laptop, my 2.5" TeamGroup 2TB SSD stopped showing up. It wasn't showing in the BIOS or Windows. Later it started showing up as an unknown device in Windows, and still not at all in the BIOS.

I popped it open to have a look, and the only think I saw that looked out of order were these semi transparent things. They look cracked.

What are these, and could they have caused the problem?

They look like fuses to me, and they are non conductive. There's absolutely no conductivity through them. Just OL with a multimeter.

Is there a way to fix it myself (I have a "little bit" of electronics skills) , or should I send it off and jus pay the $$$$ to have it fixed and data recovered? Any ideas, suggestions?
I am in a weird spot with upgrades for a few people - someone has a Dell with the i5-9400/12GB/256GB+1TB but I have someone with a Ryzen 5 2400G HP desktop which cannot run Windows 11 -- owner decided against the bypass, but that means I only have 11 months to figure this out :-(. I've "shopped around" with family who owns older PCs who have had them for a few years. One has come up as I suspect they will take an upgrade being they've had it for years (i5-9400). Still a good CPU, but it's older.

The issue is this person crams the SSD and this machine is 256GB+1TB so the SSD took a beating even with 12GB of RAM. It's taken a bit more of a beating then some of the drives I have seen which hover at 2-3%. Is the TBW of this drive known so I can judge how critical an SSD swap will be?

SanDisk MicroSD Card 2GB: Card Physically damaged (missing a chunk)and now corrupt- salvageable?

Hey everyone,

So a little over a year ago I found buried in the dirt a SanDisk MicroSD Card inside a MicroSD to SD adapter, I promptly forgot about it after failing to read it as an SD card with a camera. Today, I freed up the MicroSD card from the adapter to discover it slightly damaged, it's missing a chunk of plastic from a side, however, all the pins are still intact. I failed to read it with Android based readers, and am now wondering if there's a way I can repair it anyhow so it can be used. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if the part of plastic that's missing was an important part or if I can crop together a fix with some cheap materials.
