AOC CQ32G2SE: Screen display shows only green

Hi there im seeking advice on an issue with a monitor i found in the trash.

Its a AOC CQ32G2SE monitor, a curvy beauty (couldnt choose this in the menu above but added it). And it only shows a vague light green image. It does this when connected to hdmi or displayport and when disconnected from anything except power, it does this aswel.

I remember having a distorted image on an old laptop and i could fix it by applying pressure on some ribbon cables running from the mobo to the display.

Do you guys think this green screen issue can be solved by opening the monitor and reseating the ribbon cables and trying to press some area's?

Thanks in advance!!

Hey,

Again, thanks for the info guys. I manager to get in. Used a plastic card and a plastic knife for children. Startend prying and twisting in the top corners.

There wasnt any cable attached to the plastic back panel as you can see in the picture. Also it doesnt look like anyone opened it before me.

Im going to further investigate the board and ribboncables tomorrow. Is it important to precicely reattach all the metallic and black stickers? Thats going to be hard.

If i plug in power and test pressing the ribbon cables, are there any component i need to avoid or else risk a shock?

Of course i wiIll keep you updated with pictures

Hey there,

I Managed to take some pictures of the main and powerboard. The latter has a bit of a darker brown area close to the biggest component on it. Cant really conclude anything on the mainboard.

Im going to reconnect everything screw the boards back, peel off the black tape and start poking the area's you told me.

PS Uploading pictures seems bugged. ill try to post the rest tomorrow.

ThinkVision LT2323p: Brightness Menu Randomly Pops Up

The last few days my, what appears to be, Brightness Menu keeps popping up randomly. Sometimes, I assume where the button is stuck for 15 seconds, causing the Menu Lock or Unlock to popup.

When I first purchased the monitor, second hand, the Power button wasn't always responsive and has never improved. Either way, the monitor's performance is effective.

Guessing I need to disassemble and clean the contacts and around the plastic buttons. Otherwise, if the PCB contacts are not restorable, I'll have to replace the PCB for the buttons.

Any thoughts, questions, comments and or suggestions?

Samsung Display SE790C Series S34E790C: Why does my monitor turn on to a grey screen?

My monitor only turns on to a grey screen, it will not display anything, I’ve tried hdmi and dp. Even when it’s not connected to a computer it doesn’t say “no input” or anything like that. Just stays grey. I try to toggle the menu but still just stays grey. My computer can recognize that another display device is connected to it. The only thing I can do to it is turn it on and off from the toggle power button, then it goes from the grey screen to the black screen. When I look from behind the monitor I can see that something on the right side is lit up red, this could maybe have something to do with it? My knowledge of monitors is rather limited, please give me some answers or suggestions on what to try or what the issue may be. Thank you!

Dell U2718Q: Dell U2718Q Monitor Keeps blacking out

I have a Dell 4k U2718Q that seems to have a problem with staying on. A few months ago it stopped turning on at all, and I tried the power drain by pulling the plug and holding the power button for a while. That didn't seem to fix it so I ordered a new power supply board. After replacing that it came right on and (I thought) worked fine, for about 10 minutes, then it powers off again.

I'll unplug it and do the power drain with the button and it comes back on, and will continue to do this about every 5-8 minutes, but always comes back. Any idea what the problem could be at this point? Would it be the main logic board, like a capacitor that could be bad? I can tell it's still getting power and doing something because the computer is still seeing the monitor in the display properties, and it'll come and go as you plug and remove the hdmi cable.

I've tried the easy things, different cables, different computers, updated drivers, all with the same results. And it is plugged in to a surge strip, if that makes any difference.

Thanks for any ideas!

Asus VH232T: Backlight flashes very briefly, then stays off.

I got this display used, unfortunately it didn’t work right from the start. The backlight only flashes for a split second when turned on, then stays off.

Other than that the display seems to work fine, the image is definitely there (checked with phone flashlight), so I decided I want to try and fix it if I can.

Taking it apart was easier than I even expected. Unfortunately I couldn’t see any bad components on either of the boards (power supply and logic board, I assume), and I didn’t think to take any pictures at the time. Put it back together for now.

If anyone has experience with this model (or similar ones) and can point me to what exactly to look for that would be appreciated. I saw that other Asus models seem to have problems with the power supply? Where could I get ahold of a new one to try that out?

Dell U2711 Display: Dell U2711 display showing yellowish tinge

I picked up a Dell U2711 display in good physical condition, manufacturer in 2012, to use with a Mac Mini M4 running Tahoe (or other older Minis). The display boots up with a yellowish/amber tinge and no amount of brightning and adjusting contrast will get me to pure white say on an open text document. In Settings I can pick the U2711 but I'm not finding a way to calibrate it further. The monitor is connected via HDMI and set to YPbPr on the monitor controls. If I change that to RGB everything turns very pink. Same result in Settings on the Mac for Display. If I chose Generic RGB instead of U2711 the display turns pink. None of the other choices in those setting substantially reduce or improve the yellow tinge. So, as this is an older display it appears that something is fried inside like some kind of graphics board but I'm out of my depth here. Since I'm using it with a Mac I don't think that any driver updates are available for me. I'm not invested in this display because I got it for free :-) but it would be a handy upgrade for some of the other Mac Minis I have running. I like to tinker so any ideas about getting it restored will be appreciated. Once upon a time it was a halfway decent monitor. Thanks.

Dell 1908FPb monitor: Dell monitor shows a green line during boot screen even after replacin

Hello. I have a Dell monitor, and I noticed a green line/green tint appearing on the screen during the boot process, even before Windows starts.

I already replaced the VGA cable with a new one, but the issue is still there.

Since the green line appears during the BIOS or boot screen, I think it may not be a software problem.

How can I determine whether the issue is caused by the monitor itself, the VGA port, or the graphics output of my computer?

Unfortunately, I don't have another monitor or computer available for testing.
