To fully disassemble the controller and remove the internal screws, I need to remove the plastic cover on the front side of the spine/extender.

I've tried prying it, but it's very difficult and I'm afraid of breaking the plastic or the internal clips. Does anyone have advice on the best prying point or a specific technique to safely remove this front cover? Photos of the clip locations would be extremely helpful.
