Compaq Laptop: Why won't my laptop screen turn on?

Whenever I try to turn on my Compaq/HP Presario CQ62 (a relatively old laptop), the screen doesn't turn on with the rest of the laptop. You can hear the fan running and the keyboard LEDs light up correctly, but the screen shows absolutely no signs of life. This happened to me a couple of days ago, and I googled a few fixes for it, and turning it on at a thirty degree angle worked that time and I didn't have a problem with it until today.

Here's a list of things I've tried that have failed:

Turning on the laptop at a thirty degree angle

Turning the laptop off, taking the battery out, unplugging it, and then pressing the power button for 30 seconds, 1 min, and then 2 minutes.

Various key operations.

Removing the RAM sticks and moving them around.

I've tried just about everything, and I fear my trusty laptop might be finished. Help would be appreciated! Thanks!

I'm currently having same issue. Here's what I noticed, the screen turn on but emitting a very low light, I can see it.

However, I haven't gotten a chance to take it to a laptop engineer, here's what I do to my laptop each time I power on or reboot

I loosed a part of my compaq presario CQ61 where the port that connects the screen with the motherboard is located, because anytime I power on or reboot the system, the issue occurs, but disconnecting the port and connecting it back brings the full light of the screen.

Also, shutting down the system, and leaving the port still connected, I notice a white flicker on the screen, time by time, despite the system is off, this makes me think it's a motherboard issue.

I've tried all possible things according to what I've learnt from a friend about reparing laptops, that's to say I can disassemble a laptop and assemble it back, and can also tell some cause of a faulty laptop.
Please I'm still looking for a solution to the problem, I've described the problem in detail. A laptop engineer might charge even more than the problem of the laptop.

I've also tried cleaning the ram, I have two rams, and I've tried a single ram on different ram slot, after cleaning the ram and the slot (maybe the cleaning I did wasn't enough :))
My thought now is that probably the two ram are already corrupted. If not, should be the cpu paste.

Because it's been over three weeks I closed my laptop lid, I usually leave the lid up, unless I have to carry/package the laptop into a bag when I need to carry the laptop around.

The issue was later resolved, I don't know how ot happened. Just after trying everything with no solution. I power on the system to use it my usual way, (disconnecting the connection between the motherboard and screen), but to my surprise it worked.

But that's not all. Yesterday the system was unable to power on, though the screen still flicker while the system is off. I guessed it's a motherboard issue. Then I took it to a laptop engineer, and he said same. Too bad I'll have to face it 😩

Compaq Presario CQ57: My laptop has completely shut down and all I get is a blue screen.

Everytime I turn on my laptop, I get a blue screen asking for Administrator Password or Power On Password. I can't do anything and I don't have the password. I can't even get into safe mode anymore. If I put in wrong password 3 times it says System Disabled. I want to take my .45 to it right now. I'm beyond frustrated. PLEASE HELP!

I installed a copy of windows xp recovery used by a Compaq Evo N100v that stopped working around 2007 onto this compaq presario Cq50-107nr. The computer will not connect via wifi because it might be missing a couple drivers for it and wont connect through ethernet. I need to activate windows and used the phone service option and the automated voice said the installation id was invalid. The xp running does not have any service packs. I understand i need drivers to get the wifi to work but do not understand why the ethernet will not connect when i plug it in.

Compaq Laptop: Hard Drive Clicking every 5 to 10 seconds

I've recently bought a Compaq Armada 1120 second hand, and it works well. Although, it's hard drive seems to click every 5 to 10 seconds. I've noticed it will stop doing it for awhile when I do nothing. I can also hear the hard drive doing things right after I click on something. This computer is from the 90s and I'm wondering if it's Hard Drive should be replaced, or if this is normal for laptops from it's time.

I'm new to collecting computers like this lol

Compaq Laptop: Compaq Splash Screen to a Black Screen

I have an old Compaq Armada m700 Laptop. When I turn it on I see the Compaq logo and then the Screen goes black the laptop does boot into Windows and I can hear the Windows welcome sound. Also if I hook up a second monitor it displays windows find on the second Monitor. I want the Laptop's main screen to work. If I try and get into the BIOS via F10 the screen stays black. If I connect the 2nd display it will show the BIOS screen. I originally thought it was a hardware issue but I do see the Compaq Logo Splash screen.
