Asus Zenbook UX31A: Replacement of the SSD.

Hello,

My SSD has just crashed (after 2 years and 4 month...)

It seems that the corresponding SSD is the AData xm11 but i didn't find a replacement easily. But does a equivalent exist ? I don't know very well but it seems that the ones on the MacBook Air looks like quit similar.

Could someone tell me which SSD i could put in my UX31A ?

Thank you very much.

Asus Zenbook UX303L: HDMI port quit working

I have had this notebook for a year, and have connected as many as two external monitors (using the thunderbolt port and HDMI port) with no problem. I just moved, and now when I set up, with an external monitor using the HDMI port, the notebook does not see it. The control panel only shows the built-in display available. I have checked the cable and the monitor and they are fine. Is it possible my HDMI port failed?

Asus ZenBook 14 UX430: a key no longer works: Possible damage from previous water spill

My laptop is actually a ZenBook UX434IQ_UM433IQ but I couldn't find that option here.

My 'a' key randomly stopped working yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary happened between me shutting it down the night before and firing up the laptop the next day.

However, I did spill water over my laptop around a month ago and am now in a more humid climate.

I have tried cleaning beneath the key (which is definitely the issue, I ran driver tests and was able to check using v USB keyboard.

I have spoken to two technicians and would love another opinion. One told me it would be ~£180 to replace and probably wouldn't ever quite be the same. another said could get away with just changing the key (£35). That doesn't seem quite right to me.

If you have insight on this, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Thanks in advance.

Asus Zenbook UX32VD: What to do when iSSD fails?

I have UX32VD.

I used to use my iSSD as a second storage partition. Now it died.

Until a few hours ago, I was running windows 10 preview. Here follows what I have done and my problem

1 - Removed the HDD and replace by SSD Saumsung EVO 850.

2 - Tryed to do a clean install of windows 10, it ends in an infinit loop and never reaches the installation menu.

3 - Tryed windows 7, the same problem.

4 - Tryed Ubuntu, it runned, showed several errors due to iSSD failure but installed and runs normally and very fast.

5 - Tryed to put the HDD with win 10 back, windows won't start.

My problem is the following, I don't want to be stuck with ubuntu, I think that I have not been able to install win due to the iSSD that is reconized by the bios that is already on version 214, the last one available on Asus website.

On ubuntu, sometimes iSSD is recognized sometimes not. But never I am able to edit partition or whatever.

If anyone can give me a hint on how to solve this problem. I have also contacted ASUS, but as my laptop is no longer under warranty I am hopeless on their solution.

Thanks for help.

Asus Zenbook Flip UX360CA: Touchpad stopped working with no reason

I have 1 month old Asus zenbook flip, perfect laptop for me. But today, while I was watching film, touchpad stopped working. Never dropped, flooded or damaged in any way. I've tried Fn+F9 key combo, tried reinstalling driver for touchpad (this message pop up: http://ivanrf.com/wp-content/uploads/201... ) and ATK package, I even can't find the device in device management, on mouse and pointing devices I only can see the external mouse.... Tried clean windows install with ssd format, nothing changed....

Should I bring it in the store, it's still under warranty or you think the problem is software ?

It's like there is no touchpad at all :/

Asus Zenbook UX31A: Flickering Screen on battery power

Hi everyone,

since i changed the keyboard on my asus zenbook i noticed a strange phenomena...when running on battery power the screen is flickering almost all the time. But this only happens when i am on battery power. The screen is also very dim.

When i use the ac everything works fine, i get full screen brightness and there is no more flickering at all.

I am running on windows 10, adaptive screen brightness turned of, as well as intel hd graphics battery safer mode...latest drivers installed.

I checked all the ribbon cables and connections, everything fine so far. It would be great if someone could help me out.

Cheers

Asus Zenbook UX301LA: Fan constantly running at max speed

I have a problem with an ASUS Zenbook UX301LA where 10-20 minutes after I boot up the fan will start running at maximum speed regardless of temperature/CPU usage.

If I just start up and leave it idle the fan will kick in after a short time, the temperature sensors show core temp hovering around 32-38°C (90-100°F) and the CPU usage not rising above 2-5%. Once the fan is stuck on max even after a couple of hours idle it won't come down.

I've updated all drivers in device manager, updated the BIOS, downgraded the BIOS but to no effect (I have had other problems with the BIOS since upgrading to Windows 10, but I didn't have this problem for the first 4 months or so after the upgrade). I also tried to build this laptop fan control tool but didn't have any luck on Windows 10 (I know pretty much nothing about Windows system programming).

Any suggestions much appreciated :) It's not a huge problem but it would be nice to find a fix. The fact that the temperature sensors are showing sensible values makes me think it's not just a damaged/unplugged sensor.
