was damaged during shipping and he was unsuccessful with insurance/RMA so I'm looking at how I can fix it. The only physical damage is to the tab that locks the GPU into the Mobo, but this in itself isn't always a problem from what I've read, my best guess currently is that some of the traces from the PCB are shorting in the damaged area. Is this fixable? I work in engineering and have a very good selection of tools available.

AMD Radeon RX 570: AMD RX 570 not booting. Voltage measurements included

Hey all, I've been trying to fix a XFX rx570 XXX edition 8gb. Keep in mind I've no knowledge so I've been doing this using tutorials. Any help is appreciated.

8pin connector led is open when pc boots, but nothing else happens (no image).

Fans don't spin.

Everything below is based on this video: https://youtu.be/2Yz7HfzggYc?si=UM8VOndm...

PCIe pins are all ok. They have similar resistance and not one is faulty. PCIe capacitors are all ok also, they have similar resistances.

12V pin is ok. 3.3V is also ok.

No visible damage/burnt components.

I booted it with the heatsink unscrewed to check voltages and here is what I gathered. Everything below is based on this video: https://youtu.be/5oD69tIrU7c?si=cQbnSDhl...

GPU core doesn't heat up at all. Stays cold.

12V voltage is ok (C157, C151).

3.3V voltage is ok (next to C157, C151).

At the 5V regulator on the back on the 3 legs I read 2.5V, 3.3V, 12.V and opposite of them I read 3.3V. Didn't read the suppossed 5V.

At the 1.81V on the back I read 1.81V. One thing I noted was when I read the voltage, the fans spun for a split second.

Display rail read 0.92V

VDDCI/memory controller read 0V

1R0 (memory) read 0V

GPU read 0V

Things I tried that I am not sure I did correctly:

Continuity test on 8 pin connector socket.

Resistance measurement on the regulators on the back of the card.

Thanks!

Update (04/10/26)

AMD Radeon RX 560 4gb: My graphics card heats up significantly when I enter any games

I enter the game, and after about ten seconds, the game freezes, while the graphics card begins to overheat and make excessive noise. Occasionally, the computer shuts down on its own to prevent damage to the graphics card, but it seems that it may already be broken. The issue might lie with the thermal pads, as I do not have any. The problems started after I disassembled it and replaced the thermal paste; everything was functioning normally prior to that. Please assist me.

AMD Radeon RX 590: How to apply Liquid Metal on Sapphire RX590 SE OC

I have a really old Sapphire RX590 Special Edition that I used for gaming It's a decent card, and it can certainly keep up with my needs. However, I only replaced the thermal paste and pads a few year ago, and now I think they became dry because the temps under load is waaaay too high, it takes linger to cool after load and idle temp is also high. Even after adjusting the fan curves the temperature still stayed high. I have some Liquid Metal left after I applied it to my CPU and I was wondering whether I can apply it to my RX590 as well. I see a lot of resistors (or whatever they're called) around the die, and I was concerned that the Liquid Metal will leak out sideways and fry my card.

So, my question is: How can I apply Liquid Metal to my RX590 without possibly frying it?? Would surface tension keep the Liquid Metal from spilling out from the sides or do I need some kind of foam to keep it in place, like the PS5? If it won't work then I guess I'll go back using thermal paste.

Sapphire Dual-X R9 270X: No display but fans are spinning

I bought this last month because the store is having a sale. Since I got it cheap, there are no warranties. It was working for a month then it died for no reason. I haven’t done anything abusive (like overclocking, etc). While the PC is on, I touched the part where the die is placed. It’s not heating up but the fans are spinning. I don’t get any display either. I tried the card with a different rig and it is still the same. I cleaned the contacts with 99% alcohol and tried it again. Still won’t display. I plugged the cord of my monitor to the integrated graphics display port and it did show something (the bios, windows boot manager). I tried using another video card to test my motherboard and it did work. What could be the cause of this sudden death? I also plugged in the 2nd 6 pin (there were 2 of them) but still wont function. Are there any fuse to check? I don’t find disposing as an option because it feels like it is still repairable. Do share what you have in mind. I do know how to solder (and similar). I need help in finding the fault.
