Would it be possible to remove the battery using a heat gun?

Testo:

As Apple offers battery replacement, it has to be doable without risking puncture, etc...

I wonder if applying a heat gun to the other side of the aluminum case would soften the glue and allow for removal of the battery. (The same procedure as removing the screen on an iPod touch/iPad.) Since the battery is compartmentalized, could you do this piece-by-piece?
