My Danby is about 30 years old. It stopped working until I moved the thermostat to 1 or 0. The thermostat had broken off from one of its mounting screws about an inch from the top of its mount. When I repositioned the thermostat it has been working fine for over a week now. Does anyone know if the thermostat is probably a mercury type?

My Danby is about 30 years old. It stopped working until I moved the thermostat to 1 or 0. The thermostat had broken off from one of its mounting screws about an inch from the top of its mount. I have since repositioned the thermostat with rubber caulking and it has been working fine for over a week now. Does anyone know if the thermostat is probably a mercury type?
