If you're sure you never damaged the original home button, and it looks all in tact, and cleaned on the connector, and the logic board pins are clean. Then possibly, the LCD backplate which contains the flex cable for the home button could be damaged. It's worth replacing that. If not, then you'll need someone who is God at micro soldering, to transfer the components over to a new home button, which can be very tricky without damaging the new home button flex.
