Here's an interesting idea that I'm hoping is possible.
I have a Nexus 5 that has served me well for a few years now. But it's showing its age. Cracked camera, cracked case, power button is really temperamental, and in the last couple days, the wireless charging has failed.
My wife also bought an N5 a couple years ago, but was a lemon. We're both on Ting, but she would never have as good of service as I did. The radios never worked right. Her LTE would hardly ever work and the phone was basically unusable. She finally bit the bullet and bought a 5X.
So now, I'm looking at a busted ass N5 that's on its last leg in terms of more peripheral components, but the core functionality is fine. And over here, I've got an otherwise pristine N5, with possibly a bad logic board/radio/whatever.
What are my options for swapping the internal components, resulting in a fresh N5 that'll last me a bit longer?
EDIT: I guess what I'm really asking is...if the issues with her N5 are actually with the radio, is that integrated into the logic board? Could I get away with just swapping my logic board into her phone? Or is it more nuanced than that?
