Not picking up external mic

Hi

I use a canon 650D to make Films, I use a Røde videomic for audio. It worked great until recently suddenly the camera does not detect that the mic is plugged in and just uses the internal mic on the camera. I'm guessing this is a problem with the microphone port as the mic is working fine (tested on my laptop) I was wondering if there is a repair for this or any ways I could fix it as I love the camera
