Any update?  If changing the batteries didn't fix the issue, I would suggest taking apart what you can to see if a connector got jarred loose from the impact.  This may be tough as the cords could lead up inside the furby to parts that are not accessible without destroying the little guy.  I hope you can get to the bottom of it!
