I've seen a few iPhones do this when they had a dying Battery, or a dead Fingerprint Sensor. With that in mind, I think it's your battery.

Do you have access to a Mac OS machine? If so, we can isolate the battery as an issue or not; A free program called CoconutBattery will tell you the status of your iPad battery. Here's a link, it's free:

The small app will tell you if your Battery is Good, Fair, Poor, Needs Servicing, etc. In addition, it will provide you with a Cycle count. Feel like posting the cycle count and status to this thread? The test will take less than 1 minute.
