Robert Furnell, the very first thing you want to do is to stop trying to charge it or use it. Remove the battery and use [guide|8115|this guide] to disassemble your Vita. Then clean '''every''' part with 90%+ isopropyl alcohol and a small soft brush. Repeat this step a few times to make sure that you remove all debris and water. You can submerge the logicboard in the isopropyl alcohol. Check for any burned, charred, or missing components. Once properly cleaned. Leave it dry for a short time. Isopropyl alcohol in this concentration evaporates quickly. Do '''not''' use a hairdryer or fan since this can spread any residual debris.water under any IC and may cause further corrosion. Once it is properly cleaned, '''replace the battery''' and re-evaluate. Water damage is the hardest to diagnose and the hardest to repair since you never know which parts were affected. Hope this helps, good luck.
