I had this problem too.I changed the broken digitizer.Before I put everything together I tested. LCD wont turn on. Ipad was making sound while connected to the computer though. Also,itunes could find the ipad. So I restored it using itunes and it fixed the problem. I am sure it will work 90 percent of the time. Good luck!!
