  • Allow the oil to drain until it slows to a drip.

  • Wipe the oil drain plug area with a rag or towel.

  • Replace the drain plug. Screw it in as far as possible by hand, then use the 14 mm box end wrench or socket to finish tightening it.

  • Only tighten the drain plug until it is snug. Over-tightening the oil drain plug can strip the threads or crack the oil pan.
