-[* black] With the back panel successfully separated ***but not removed*** from the rest of the device, slide out the optical drive
-[* red] Along the optical drive port are three {insert mm} screws. Remove them using a JIS #0 screwdriver
+[* black] Use a plastic opening tool to ease out the optical drive from the side of the laptop, then pull it the rest of the way out.
+[* red] Remove the three screws along the edge of the optical drive port with a Phillips #0 screwdriver.
