Is your HP Photosmart C309g's printhead clogged, producing streaky output or not printing a certain color, even with new ink cartridges? This guide will teach you how to unclog the printhead in this printer.
The cleaning steps will work with other printers with permanent in printer printheads that can be removed/replaced as well as integrated to the cartridge heads, but the printhead removal steps and the steps to bypass the printhead initialization are tied to this model and similarly aged 564/920 printers-if you use a HP printer that doesn't use the 564/920 ink cartridges or a different brand printer altogether, read the manual or find a online tutorial to find out how to remove the printhead first.
You can also try and bypass the initialization of the printhead on non-HP printers and other non 564/920 ink HP printers, but I will not guarantee the outcome for these printers-I only guarantee this method on the c309g and similarly aged printers with 564/920 cartridges-the "web connected" printers may have protections in place to force this method out of working, even if bypassed-you can try, but it may not work anymore, especially since HP actually updates the firmware on them and requires new firmware to use the web connected extras. '''The ink purge bypass used here has to be done EXACTLY as I say to, or it will not work!''' Things have changed a lot more then I care to admit with HP printers since I started this in 2010.
I would also like to mention as the original author this will '''not''' unclog every case of clogged printheads-if this doesn't work and the ink is confirmed good, the printhead is damaged, and you will need to replace the printhead, which is 50.00 online last I checked, which is why this method exists.
'''This guide is being improved. If you see steps without pictures, they are being added for future improvement. There will also be differences in the pictures regarding materials used.'''
