HP TouchPad Digitizer Control Board Replacement

Replace a broken digitizer control board on your HP TouchPad.

Use this guide to replace the digitizer control board.

Passo 1 Digitizer Control Board  ¶ 

Remove the two 3.0 mm Phillips screws securing the digitizer control board to the rear case.

  • Remove the two 3.0 mm Phillips screws securing the digitizer control board to the rear case.

Passo 2  ¶ 

Lift, but do not remove, the digitizer control board out of the rear case.

  • Lift, but do not remove, the digitizer control board out of the rear case.

  • Do not try to completely remove the digitizer control board yet, as it still remains connected to the motherboard by the digitizer control board ribbon cable.

Passo 3  ¶ 

Using the edge of a plastic opening tool or your fingernail, carefully flip up the retaining flap on the digitizer control board ribbon cable ZIF socket. Be sure you are prying up on the hinged retaining flap, not the socket itself.

  • Using the edge of a plastic opening tool or your fingernail, carefully flip up the retaining flap on the digitizer control board ribbon cable ZIF socket.

  • Be sure you are prying up on the hinged retaining flap, not the socket itself.

  • Pull the digitizer control board ribbon cable straight out of its socket on the digitizer control board.

  • Remove the digitizer control board from the TouchPad.
