Removing or replacing the motherboard of the Moto X4.

It is not necessary to remove the battery before removing the motherboard, but it is recommended simply for safety.

Passo 1 Motherboard  ¶ 

Remove the sim card tray by inserting a sim card remover into the small hole on the top edge of the device. Once sim tray is unlatched, simply pull it out. The Moto X4 comes with a sim removal tool in the box, but this can be substituted for a straightened paper clip.

Passo 2  ¶ 

Remove the nine 3mm T5 Torx screws securing the silver plate to the device. Remove the eleven 2mm T4 Torx screws securing the plate to the device. Remove the eleven 2mm T4 Torx screws securing the plate to the device.

  • Remove the nine 3mm T5 Torx screws securing the silver plate to the device.

Remove the 20mm screw that is holding in the motherboard with a T3 driver.

Using a pair of tweezers disconnect the vibrating motors connector near the bottom of the device. Using a pair of tweezers disconnect the vibrating motors connector near the bottom of the device. Using a pair of tweezers disconnect the vibrating motors connector near the bottom of the device.

  • Using a pair of tweezers disconnect the vibrating motors connector near the bottom of the device.

Passo 9  ¶ 

Carefully pry up the motherboard using the spudger. The previously disconnected wires may have to be held back in order to easily remove the motherboard.
