Triplett ET200 AC Line Splitter Basic Outlet testing.

Introduzione

120V AC home outlet wiring is simple to test and an improperly wired outlet can be dangerous as well as damage electronic devices.

To check outlet wiring, we use the chart on the back and this device works like any other outlet tester
Plug the device in and read the lights based on the chart. (Please note that in my image, the actual test shows the normal lights on the right verses the left as reading the chart. This is due to the outlet orientation)
If you get the 2 orange lights, then your outlet is wired correctly. Otherwise if you have different or no lights, see the chart for where to look for the problem.
You are done testing your outlet. If your outlet is not correct, please do not try to correct it without a good understanding of house wiring standards and make sure to turn the power off before opening up an outlet.
