Introduzione
For this guide you will be replacing the motherboard for a Sony SLT-A55V. In order replace this part you will need precision set of screw drivers, and a set of plastic opening tools to "pop" open the clips.
We have not found an inexpensive supplier for this part. It may be cheaper to purchase a used or broken SLT-A55V for parts.

Remove all the screws on the bottom of the camera. There are two screws that can not be directly seen in this photo. These screws are shown in blue. One screw is hidden by the battery cap and the other is hidden by the battery recess.
It is not necessary to remove ALL the screws shown in this and subsequent photos. Only those on the back part of the case.
Not the battery recess and the front part. One exception is the screw above the strap ring on the LHS (Step 6).
Also, take note there are two types of screws: fine thread machine screws for metal, and coarse thread ones for plastic. Better to identify which ones go where as you take it apart.

On the top of the camera there is a black plastic sticker that hides two screws which must be removed.

This sticker can be re-used. Peel the sticker off and place it on a clean piece of parchment paper or wax paper. This will prevent dirt and dust from getting on the adhesive.

Remove the two screws that lie beneath the sticker. The arrows indicate the location of these screws.

Some of the ribbon cables are held in with minature clips. These cables can be identified by the side hinge that can be released with a pointed end.
It is not really clear how to release the ribbon cables - any hints. I only need the 2 that connect the camera back to the motherboard.

Once the back of the camera is removed the motherboard is exposed.

Remove all ribbon cables that are connected to the motherboard. There are two ribbon cables that are stacked the location marked in blue. One cable is is connected under the board while the other is connected to the top.
To remove the back cover.
First the gold cable: flip up the black locking bar to release the cable.
Second the blue cable: AFAICS there is no release mechanism on this connector, I just carefully eased the cable out of the connector.

Hi Mr Almunif
I have a SONY ALPHA SLT A55V that stopped working.
Sony South Africa quoted ZAR 17, 000 to repair this camera when the latest model over here will cost me ZAR 25, 000
Sony indicated that the camera needs a new Main PC Board and a Shutter Charge Unit or Shutter Change unit. Not sure from their handwriting on the quote
I can buy a new PC on ebay but need to find a charge unit
Can you assist with this and also on how to replace it
My previous A55 was stolen and the one I have is much needed to take videos of the properties that I sell for clients. m in the real estate business in South Africa
