This is a detailed guide on how to remove the film cartridge door of a Ricoh Super 8 800z camera. This may be necessary if the door is damaged/cracked in some way, or the seal is allowing light in which affects the film. If light leaks are appearing in photos, this guide may be for you. This is a fairly easy process and only requires a screwdriver.

Pull the film cartridge door release lever towards the eyepiece to open the film cartridge door.

Remove the two screws from the center of the spring plate, located on the camera side of the film cartridge door hinge, with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Remove the spring plate from the hinge.

Remove the two outer screws from the camera side of the door hinge with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Remove the film cartridge door from the camera body.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
