    • After the cord has been removed from the connector, it will need to be pulled through the rubber grommet.

    • Gently pull the wires to the connector until the white connector is touching the rubber grommet.

    • Using light force, push the white connector on the end of the heater plate power cords through the rubber grommet.

    • Take the straight tipped tweezers, grip the body of the fuse, and pull it free from the housing.

I can't seem to find this fuse either. Anyone have a link?

    Diana Burton - Replica

Found the Zephyr Micro (referenced by jb5294 above) on Amazon. Came in a pkg of 10. They're larger than the 1 that blew, but will fit. No readable info on the original fuse, so I can only hope new one continues to work (and will safely blow if necessary).

    Hi!

Could you tell me is gonna works?

Thanks for responding to other people's comments. Seriously, why not share info about the fuse? This is basically a half assed repair.

    Jeremy Ballard - Replica

Fed up trying to find thermal fuse rating online so I took it apart.

The Resmed Airsense 10 thermal fuse rating is 098 C which is logical as the water should never boil (100 C).

Also note that a simple ohm meter logic test determines if good or bad. Place ohm meter leads across thermal fuse (on each fuse lead) and if it beeps, fuse is good still.

    Chris J - Replica

RESMED should provide few fuses . It’s such a shame such a mission critical component is not there in the box . At least provide the fuse specification in the user manual .

Brick - Replica

No I haven’t heard on where to buy fuse and I need one or a heater plate and don’t think you can buy ether one . Resmed is a billon dollar company a year and and worth over 300 billon from what I have read. They wanted 400 dollars to fix my machine from using cs in it and it keeps me well but at the same time been told they are the best

Did anyone ever get an answer on where to get a fuse and/or new heater tray?

Kevin - Replica

The fuse is a Therm-O-Disc G7F01098C which I found by salvaging one from an inherited AirSense 10. Over time the markings on the fuse fade - I couldn’t read the one from my original machine. That particular one is very hard to find, but a G7F01093C should work (5 degrees C lower cutoff shouldn’t matter) and it’s more commonly available.

Carl - Replica

The G7f01093C is a 25 amp fuse. The G7F1098C is a 5 amp fuse. That’s a rather larger amount of current difference to put into your CPAP before the fuse cuts out.

Graham did a great job with directions and Carl is correct on all counts and his advise on the number is sound as well. I bought the fuse (G7F01098C) online from Newark. Always change the fuse before changing the heater plate and you can test the fuse with a multimeter set for resistance testing on a low scale (ohms, not k ohms or M ohms would be fine). Once the fuse is replaced you can go into “My Options” and scroll down to “Run Warmup” to test the heater. If it works, then use the “Stop Warmup” to end the cycle. I did not research the heater part number since the fuse replacement solved the malfunction.

Thanks to Graham (instructions) & Carl (part number). But... Can a heater plate stop working for another reason? Mine stopped heating so I ordered a replacement fuse --- easy. But literally the day before the fuse arrived, the heater plate started working again. I read on another board that it could be a bad capacitor (but my experience is that once a capacitor goes, it's gone forever). Unfortunately I did not test the original fuse until I replaced it --- so of course it tested "good". I now have the new "93C" fuse installed & my 7-year-old unit is working fine but I fear that if it breaks again, it would require a more costly repair.

BTW, to clarify... G7F01093C is an acceptable replacement for G7F01098C as originally stated. The only difference is the temperate at which it opens (93 deg C vs. 98 deg C) --- both are 5 Amp fuses. The manual says the max temp on the plate is 68 deg C and cuts off at 74 deg C.

Note minimum quantity + shipping... 1@$1.98 "93C"s at Newark is $12, 38@$1.33 "98C"s at Testco is $66.

Thanks Basil, so helpful.

Update... With either the new or old fuse, the heater plate sometimes stopped working. I called Repap, a company that fixes/sells CPAP parts. They said it could be a loose connection (with the contacts the fuse plugs into) or the heater plate or the main logic board. I did order a heater plate from them (the said it was "refurbished" but it looked new) and so far, so good. (Their parts were reasonable: $29.95 for the refurb'd heater plate and $9.68 USPS shipping.)

BTW, if one wants to by a new Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset that uses LTE/4G cellular (to replace the older ones that only did CDMA and are no longer compatible with cell phone networks), it is still being made but one needs to specify "MyAir" compatible --- not the "C2C" ("Card to Cloud") model. Then one can use one's existing supplies (the masks and tubes for the newer AirSense 11 are not compatible).

Basil D -

This is a thermal curoff fuse, not a standard current limiting fuse. Look at the temperature printed on the body and order from most elecronic supply companies. i.e. Newark Electronics or Allied Electronics. Amazon has some temperatures available.

It is my question as well. Not sure where to get an identical fuse which is important of course.

There seems to be a lot of different information about the fuse in this post. The fuse that was in my machine was a MICROTEMP G7F01 098C.
