Introduzione

If your RIDGID R2740 Belt Sander stops when applied to the work piece, is low on power, or making a squealing sound, the timing belt may be bad. This guide will show how to replace the timing belt in the RIDGID R2740 Belt Sander. You will need a Flathead screwdriver and a T20 screwdriver.

  1. Orientate the sander so that the timing belt housing is facing you.
    • Orientate the sander so that the timing belt housing is facing you.

    • Remove the 19mm T20 screw from the center of the timing belt housing.

  2. Remove the timing belt housing.
    • Remove the timing belt housing.

  3. Use your finger or a screwdriver to apply     pressure on the belt away from the sander near one of     the small wheels.

    • Rotate the large wheel while applying pressure until the timing belt is free from the wheels.
