Motorola Moto X4 Motherboard Replacement

Introduzione

It is not necessary to remove the battery before removing the motherboard, but it is recommended simply for safety.

    • If your replacement screen did not come with an earpiece speaker grille, you will have to transfer it from your original screen.

    • The earpiece speaker grille consists of two small mesh pieces. Be careful not to lose them as you transfer them over.

    • Use the flat edge of a spudger to push the grille from the front side of the screen to loosen it from its recess.

    • Remove the grille.

    • Use some thin strips of Tesa tape to affix the grille to the replacement screen.

    • If your replacement part did not come with a lower microphone gasket, use tweezers to carefully peel it from your old screen and transfer it to your replacement part.

    • Compare your new replacement screen to the original part. You may need to transfer remaining components or remove adhesive backings from the new part before installing.

    • Remove the sim card tray by inserting a sim card remover into the small hole on the top edge of the device.

    • Once sim tray is unlatched, simply pull it out.

    • The Moto X4 comes with a sim removal tool in the box, but this can be substituted for a straightened paper clip.

    • Remove the nine 3mm T5 Torx screws securing the silver plate to the device.

    • Remove the eleven 2mm T4 Torx screws securing the plate to the device.

    • Use the flat end of a spudger to pry up the silver plate from both sides.

    • Use a pair of tweezers to gently lift the battery connector wire.

    • Remove the 20mm screw that is holding in the motherboard with a T3 driver.

    • Use flat edge of the spudger to pry up the two blue connectors near the top of the device.

    • Use flat side of spudger to pry up connector near the bottom of the device.

    • Using a pair of tweezers disconnect the vibrating motors connector near the bottom of the device.

    • Carefully pry up the motherboard using the spudger.

    • The previously disconnected wires may have to be held back in order to easily remove the motherboard.
