    • Manufactured by Morphy Richards and sold by Morrisons.... these soup makers are renowned to fail... this is normal due to being overfilled or the soup product not being prepared enough ( veg etc MUST be no larger than 10mm×10mm×10mm ) or it WILL jam the blades.. and if over filled will also force premature failure...

    • the unit will show an error code of E1 E2 or E3 on digital panel E1 blades jammed E2 not enough liquid to boil and E3 to much wedged into pot thus causing the sensor in the lid to get covered and short out... all 3 errors are operator error ...

    • switch off the unit for 10 sec allowing it to reset either add or remove soup items as required replace lid return power and try again.... GOOD LUCK enjoy your healthy stress free soup....

My machine will blend but still show E1 when I try to start it off

Came to this site cos I was getting E3 error took lid off give it a good clean making sure all silver metal bits was throughly clean, above made sense as I used two bags of casserole mix from tescos instead of one. Defo wont be doing that again!!

treefella72 - Replica

Glad to be able to help make sense of the error..

I was getting infuriated with mine when it kept turning off..

They are a great utensil when working..

damian s -

Smooth mode, went right through programme bit failed to heat contents. Second time showed E1 error code, removed lid and cleaned blade, followed instructions, unit still failed to heat soup, has been used for only 6 months so dissappointed.

tinkerfk - Replica

If only 6 months old I would return it to the store for a replacement as it could be the sensor or the heater element failed.. when they work they are a good unit but the amount of these that are failing is terrible.. Good luck in sorting yours out…

damian s -

Worked four times then E1. Error has not worked since taking it back for a return of my money. It could have been a good product but some design issues

syeileen@cablenet.com.cy - Replica

First time using machine since last winter, Steam is billowing out and condensation too. I really don’t remember this happening last year. Is it normal?

Niamh McEndoo - Replica

Mine hasn't let out lots of steam/ condensation.

I would check the seal and see if its dried out..

damian s -

I’ve had one of these, had it for a present last Christmas but was purchased in November it’s 10 days out the year guarantee and Towers will not entertain the idea of swapping ive hardy used it. The store purchased from has since stop trading so can’t take back there either. Will definitely stay clear of Towers products in the future.

helentownroe - Replica

What error code are you getting?

What is not working with your machine?

damian s -

I've got one of these. Has been working fine until today, went through the smooth program but hadn't heated it properly….Showing an E1 error code now . Five hungry kids and no soup

Jessica Hymus-Gant - Replica

Hi Jessica.. normally the E1 error shows that the blades are jammed.. this is usually because the items in the soup maker are to large.. try reducing the size of items you are trying to cook before placing into the soup maker..

damian s -

Making sound as if blade isn’t turning any help please

Robert Moore - Replica

Hello Robert,

Have you had any of the error codes when its making the sounds??

damian s -

The 2 on the right are flashing but can’t say there 1-2-3

Robert Moore - Replica

mine dose not work eveven on clean

Gordon Smith - Replica

whata wast off money my son bought me that cauuse monenys tight used it 4 timems now it keeps bleeping even when i put on cleaning

Gordon Smith - Replica

Does it show any fault numbers?

damian s -

My OH bought one of these, has used it a couple of times and now is receiving the E1 error. There appears to be water in the motor as it looks like the seal wasn’t sitting flush, is it worth trying to dry it out or is she as well returning it? And no she definitely didn’t immerse the lid in water.

david rees - Replica

I would recommend taking it back if still in warranty..

Be safer if there is liquid in the electrics

At least that way you will get a replacement

Soup maker just stopped working no lights on it. Switched plugs still no power to it. It is only a few weeks old????

martine90wm - Replica

Soup maker stopped no power going to it. No lights on . It is only a few weeks old??

martine90wm - Replica

I’ve just spent half an hour trying to make the soup maker work. Kept getting E1 message. I even tried liquidising the ingredients before putting into the soup maker but still E 1. I’ve given up and making the soup in another way now. First and last time using this soup maker!

amlingwood - Replica

Rubbish soup maker E1 codes all the time

Blending works but the E1 code has nothing to do with blades being jammed.

Tom Richardson - Replica

Mine is heating the ingredients but not blending it although set to smooth. Any advice?

Ann Ashley - Replica

Hi Ann does it show any codes on the LED panel?

damian s -

But my machine start linking soup mode

Amjad Ali - Replica

Blinking soup mode

Amjad Ali - Replica

Was working perfectly for the first 3 weeks. Today went through whole program, I could hear it blending but it didn’t heat at all! No error codes showing either. Any ideas please?

caroldobbie - Replica

Blending mode lights flashing in order. Like Xmas lights. Blend and On/Off buttons not working. Nothing showing in Error/Time window.

John - Replica

I'm sorry I don't know the answer to that fault.

damian s -

Complete waste of money, stopped working after 5 or 6 soups despite following all the guidelines i.e dont overfill, keep within min and max levels, Cubing all veg nice and small with no big pieces going in. My guess is that steam is going through the seals. I loved it when it was working, made great soup with ease but I'm afraid THE ONLY WAY TO OWN ONE OF THESE IS TO BUY IT FROM YOUR LOCAL CURRYS, KEEP THE RECEIPT AND EVERY TIME IT FAILS ( WHICH IT WILL ) TAKE IT BACK AND GET ANOTHER ONE. If everyone does this, they might get the message, it will cost them so much money and they might then decide to get round to sorting out the design issues

ian davies - Replica

I would totally agree with you... keep returning it under warranty

damian s -

I totally agree with you.. good when they work but will fail... keep that receipt ready ..

damian s - Replica

Making Broccoli & Stilton soup, blitzed to smooth first then put on smooth mode, immediately comes up then E1 error. I tested the blitz and the blades worked then , tried again in mode but E1 error again, product isn't worth buying if it gives a code that isn't true!!!

mikeburgessdarts - Replica

I emptied mine just put water in just to see if it still failed.. when it does return it to the store...

damian s - Replica

I got e1 error. Veg was cut small?????Pressed blender for a few seconds then started it again and it worked

Bevheart75 - Replica

So pleased you managed to get it working again... they are a good kitchen tool when running properly...

Received one of these at our Repair Cafe. Symptom - not blending. PAT tested, disassembled and checked. Looks like the T1.6A 250v fuse has blown in the shielded cable going from control board to motor connector. It’s hidden behind thermal shielding for the cable.

tested by bypassing fuse. All fine. Must have failed when trying to blend large chunks of veg or something. No error codes.

New fuse on order. Should be quick repair and retest before returning to customer.

Main PCB is saturated in resin most likely to protect from steam and heat, so not much inside that can be repaired but fuse is simple for those who can safely repair electrical crimp connections.

Given the comments above, I doubt I’d buy one, but then again I don’t make soup and if it did. I’d use a regular pot and a hand blender.

AlyBee - Replica

Thanks for the update... good to know...

damian s -

Mine was not blending turned out to be a broken wire to the motor. Cut off the connectors, rejoined the wires now working again. Didn't get any error codes though!

Terry - Replica

All working on smooth, then the motor started to blend, stopped, when I lifted it out of the jug to see what was wrong I noticed the red housing for the blender motor had a massive crack going around it, turned electric off as liquid and electric don't mix very well. No idea why the housing would crack.

Bothy - Replica

Not a good situation to be in... Return to store under warranty....

I have found with the Aldi one e1 means too full OR can mean that the sensor has soup on it making the thing think it is too full. It's a black tube pointing down and with a silver metal tip.

John Faulkner - Replica

Hi Damian, I have an older style MR sauté & soup maker, it doesn’t generate error codes. It still has power to it (sauté function is working) but the soup mode selector/lights on the lid don’t appear to have power and don’t allow me to select a mode or switch it on. Do you think this might be fixable if I bring it to the repair cafe? Thanks very much Karen

Karen - Replica

Hi, I bought mine from Amazon it was delivered on 17th Jan. I used it a couple of times then kept getting an E1 error code. I read the advice given on this page, but found the blades were not stuck. I went to Morphy Richard’s help page, it says that over fill sensor (small post under lid with metal end) needs to be wiped. Happy to say that the problem is solved ……… for now
